AT FIRST SIGHT

Whoever You Want as Jaden

You as Alona

I waltzed down the aisles in a panic. I needed to find the cookies and cream ice cream. The grocery store was quite empty. It was a random Thursday going on eight at night. I was in the middle of my shower when I realized I didn't have any ice cream.

I desperately craved it. Without it, I'd go feral. I squeezed my hands around my sweatshirt picking up my pace. I smiled seeing the ice cream aisle. The labels caught my eye as I tried to give out which one I wanted.

A guy stood in front of the ice cream brand that I wanted. He was busy texting on his phone and holding the last cookies and cream ice cream.

I stepped forward, "Excuse me?"

The man looked up and I could hear my heart thump. His eyes dilated for a split second before he smiled in return, "Yeah?"

I pointed to the ice cream, "Is that the last one?"

He laughed looking down at the cold self-serve pint, "You want it?"

I nodded, "If you don't mind."

With ease, he handed me the ice cream. I was surprised at how easy that was. I smiled at him taking in his features. God, he was so handsome. He had smooth caramel skin. A few acne scars sat on his cheeks. A cleaned-up goatee and a gold chain sat on his neck. His short curly hair was shiny and looked freshly washed.

"Thank you," I said turning to walk away.

I sighed rounding the corner. He was so fine. And I just sat there letting him get away. I stopped in my tracks returning to the ice cream aisle. He wasn't there. I almost rolled my eyes until I heard his voice behind me.

"Do you not like that flavor?"

I laughed pinching my nose, "I was actually coming back to see if I could get your number. Only if you're single!"

The man before me nodded giving me his phone. I quickly typed in my name and number before giving it back to him.

"Call me some time..."

"The names Jaden." He spoke making me blush.

"Alona."

"I'll call you later, Alona." The way he said my name made my stomach tingle.

I smiled waving goodbye and looking down at his cart. I almost snickered seeing cookies and cream ice cream in his cart. I guess it wasn't the last one after all.
