The end of the school year came quickly for Cassidy Black, and during that time she turned the bright age of 17. She was officially an adult in the eyes of the wizarding world, meaning she would have to move out of the orphanage, find a place to stay that she could afford, while also being off at school. While the world around her got brighter, the new stresses continued to pile on.
Cassidy managed to increase her grades of acceptable to exceeds expectation and in some classes she even managed to bring them up to outstandings. The teachers were very happy to see her new found happiness, but they often wonder what was catching her eye and distracting her every now and then.
One such incident happened two weeks ago in McGonagalls classroom
"Come on, just do it," James pleaded with her as he watched Professor McGonagall walk around the classroom, "It'll be hilarious, Minny will be laughing too hard for you to get in trouble," Cassidy just shook her head once again as James tried to convince her once again to pull a prank on the woman.
"It's not even that bad of one, you won't even get caught, your very proficient with nonverbal spell casting,"
"Putting a waterfall in her room isn't that bad," Cassidy muttered to him with a roll of her eyes.
"Please, Sirius, Remus, and I blew up her desk," He stated, she raised her eyebrow at that, "Well Sirius and I did, quit being a goody-two shoes and have some fun. Quit acting a certain way because you don't want people to think you're going to end up like your father," She let out a deep sigh, as he convinced her to do it.
"Everything okay Miss Black?" Professor McGonagall called out to Cassidy as she made her way over.
"Act Natural," James quickly whispered before acting like her was taking notes, that's when he seemed to remember something as a smirk came across his face, "I don't need to act natural, she can see me, or hear me," He began to loudly laugh.
"Everything is fine, just have a headache bugging me," Cassidy quipped making James stop to glare at her, as Professor McGonagall stopped next to her table.
"Anything I should be concerned about?" She asked next as worry crossed her face.
"No, nothing like that," Cassidy calmed her, "Just still getting use to everything being normal, causes headache once in a while, I'll be fine,"
"Okay Miss Black, just let me know if you need anything," She smiled before walking away with her back turned to the young witch.
"Now, while her back is turned," James ushered me, Cassidy quickly grabbed her wand flicking it up towards the ceiling and watched as a roaring waterfall appeared above the door, before pouring down into the room. She stashed her wand away as everybody began to scream as water flooded the room with enough power that the desks began to move and push everyone around. James sat cackling in his seat at the sight while Cassidy quickly grabbed her bags and stuff up yelling with the rest of the class as if she had no idea what was happening.
McGonagall got swept off of her feet as she turned to see what was going on only to be toppled over by the roaring water. That's when the laughter began as other people who tried to run also toppled over and every attempt to get up failed spectacularly.
"Your father would be proud, I'm proud," James shouted to her as he splashed around in the water. Finally after being pushed to the back of the room by the water McGonagall was able to get up using the wall. With a quick flick of her wand the waterfall came to an abrupt end and the several feet of water became still allowing the students who had fallen the ability to get up as well.
"WHO DID THIS!?" She demanded to know, but everybody stayed silent, nobody knew except for Cassidy. James was now bent over as his laughter increased. McGonagall was soaking wet, staring at all of the students who were now dead quiet. Then the arguments and the blame game began, the only person who didn't say a word was Cassidy Black who began to have issues containing her smile as chaos rang around her. McGonagall clocked the huge smile on Cassidy's face very quickly.
