I was shaking with excitement, as I got ready for my first ever date. The night before I had given my hair a small treatment causing it to look shiny, with a soft, and springy feel to it. I was wearing a pair of bell bottom jeans, along with my emerald green sweater, that had a large silver C knitted into the front of it. I quickly pulled on my warm winter jacket, and grabbed my pair of earmuffs before heading out.
Just as Viktor had promised he was waiting for me to arrive. I smiled at him, as he pulled me in for a hug before grabbing my earmuffs from my hand before delicately placing them on me. HE then clasped his hand in mine before pulling me out to the waiting carriages.
"I've always wondered what pulls the carriages," He stated to me, as he looks at the front curiously.
"They're called Thestrals, you can only see them if you've seen death," I explained to him.
"Are you able to see them?" He questioned me, holding on to my hand tighter.
"I can. I've been able to see them since my first year here," I explained to him
"I'm sorry for whoever it was that you saw," He muttered giving me his condolences.
"I don't even remember who it was, I was very little when it happened," I told him with a sad smile
"Do you mind me asking, why did you see it?" He questioned
"There was a secret group that was fighting against Voldemort," I began, "Every now and again I would have to attend meetings. That was when they found out there was a spy amongst the group, someone gave the location up, and we were attacked. While James was quick to grab me and get me out of there, I still managed to see some stuff,"
"You talk very fondly of James, I wish I could've met him," Viktor whispered
"James was my father, at least he was more of a father than my actual one," I told him, "Sirius, didn't want me at first. Most of my first year of life was spent with Lily and James. So I built the father daughter bond with James, then my dad came back into my life, and it took over a year for a bond to even really begin forming for us. I love my Dad but he never quite got the hang of it,"
"All parents have their faults," Viktor started but paused as he thought over his words, "They're trying to be better than their parents were, and for some it's not easy, especially if they were raised up in a not so easy way,"
"I know he wasn't, he ran away in his fifth year, and went to live with James. My family is full of a lot of pure-blood supremacists, and well my father was the first Black to break the blood line. He was the only Black in Gryffindor, and he didn't care about all of the blood stuff. I mean it really makes no sense," I explained.
"So at least he tried," Viktor whispered shaking our hands, "I say you managed to somehow turn out fine,"
"Well excuse me," I sarcastically replied, "I'll just jump off this carriage now," I stood and and began to turn but Viktor just yanked me back down into place while laughing.
"You're amazing," He assured me, as he brought our intertwined hands up to his mouth and placed a kiss on the back of mine.
"You're alright, I guess," I joked nudging my shoulder into his, as his laughter rang out around us. He wrapped his arm around my shoulders pulling me closer into his side with a bright smile. I smiled up at him.
"So, I don't think I've ever asked you, but what are your plans after school?" He questioned me.
"I'm not sure," I whispered to him as I thought about it, "The future right now is so uncertain, that for once, I'm not sure," I told him causing him to nod, "I'm going to assume that you're going to continue to be the amazing quidditch player that you currently are," I smiled
