For the most part, the school year was normal. Minus a couple of sore spots, such as dealing with Professor Lupin, my fathers friend who could barely look at me, and people treated me differently. They were always scared because of my last name but now they were terrified, jumping out of the way, parting the hallway for me to walk by, staring at me as if I were some animal in a zoo. So most of my time was spent in the room of requirements, to escape the world around me, for hours at a time, I would just disappear.

So, to hear the first trip to Hogsmeade was coming up brought some excitement to my life. Even Professor Snape could see a bit of a skip to my step, along with a huge smile as I walked to his class.

"And just what has you so excited today Miss Black?" He questioned me as I walked in.

"The Hogsmeade trip is this weekend, it'll be nice to get out of the castle," I smiled at him, with a slight shrug of my shoulders. He gave me a nod before waving me into the classroom, I swear I saw the slightest smile on his face as I went in. My good mood lasted until Friday day, my last class of the day transfiguration.

"Miss Black please stay behind," McGonagall told me, causing me to sit back in my seat as the other students rushed around me to leave the class. The door closed as the final student left, encasing the room with silence.

"Yes, Professor," I questioned as I walked up to her desk, and took a seat in front of her.

"Due to certain circumstances, it has been requested for you to remain at the castle and no longer attend trips to Hogsmeade," She stated.

"What," I questioned as my eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "Surely you aren't listening to the request," I stated.

"Due to the fact that your father has been spotted not far from the school, and your belief of him to be innocent, the Ministry of Magic doesn't believe it would be wise to allow you to leave the castle," She stated

"You're not letting me go to Hogsmeade, you're going with what they've demanded," I shouted.

"Miss Black!" She shouted causing me to become silent, "This decision didn't come easily-"

"Oh don't give me that crap," I said interrupting her, "Didn't come easily, all of you are well aware of how excited I was for this, to be able to act like a normal student at Hogwarts and you've just snatched it away from me like it was nothing. First I wasn't able to even step foot in Diagon Alley and now this!" I stood up abruptly knocking the chair back behind me, "So you can take that request and shove it right up-"

"Miss Black," Professor Snape's voice came, "I suggest you calm down before you say something you will regret later on," He was soon stood right next to me, I could hear the sound of the chair moving back onto its feet.

"Just what is going on here," He questioned as he crossed his arms.

"I was just informing Miss Black of the decision we made this morning," She stated causing me to turn to him with a betrayed look on my face, I didn't even wait for a response from him before I stormed out of the room.

"I told you," was the last thing I heard before the door slammed closed behind me. I must've had a look of rage on my face as I walked down the hallway, as the hall cleared before I ever got close, I watched as friends pulled other friends out of the way as I charged through heading up to the 7th floor, knowing nobody would be able to find me there.

I sat there in front of the fireplace with a warm cup of butterbeer in my hand. I had a blanket wrapped around me, and a picture book sitting in front of me. A barley there smile was on my face I looked through the moving pictures of what, was my family. My favorite picture soon came up of Lily holding me, while tickling me on my stomach. I had my mouth opened wide with laughter, as she laughed along with me. God things were so hard back then, they were always running off trying to save the world that I was going to grow up in, but I was so much happier. I heard a peck at the window, causing my head to look up to see an owl perched against the window. I got up slowly and opened it up allowing the bird to fly in. I watched as a small bowl of food was made on the table for the owl, who waited patiently for me to take the letter off of their leg before it hopped over to start eating.

Cassidy,

I know this year has probably been hard for you. Actually I've heard just how hard it has been, they've said it's been worse than your first. I still remember when they asked me to tutor you, unable to control your abilities, the vast amount that you have, you worked so hard to learn how to control them, while also getting back on top of your studies. Just remember just how strong and amazing you truly are. I know my letters have been few and far but always remember I am always here for you. With that being said myself and the dragon sanctuary are lending a hand, and hoping you'll accept to come and stay during your Christmas break. Everybody needs some form of normalcy in their life at some point, and while this may not be the typical normal, it is a place that you would be welcomed with no judgement. Get back to me when you can preferably before Christmas break.

Charlie Weasley

I leaned back with a smile on my face as I reread the letter. It has been a long time since Charlie and I had sent letters to one another, almost two years. I wasn't sure who he's been getting his info from but it was obviously from someone. I quickly pulled out a piece of parchment and quill and quickly wrote back.

Charlie,

It has indeed been a long time since we exchanged letters, to say it has been a horrible year would be an understatement, and I do long for a sense of normalcy. I'm use to people avoiding me, but now they jump out of my way terrified, and the ministry is once again invading my life as I am no longer able to go on Hogsmeade trip due to the circumstances going on. So I would love to come to the Sanctuary for Christmas break, a place of no judgement sounds too good to be true at this point. I look forward to the visit and many more letters.

Cassidy Black

I looked over to see the owl fast asleep, it made quite the journey to get here. I could hear the chiming of the clock tower as it officially hit midnight. I fluffed the pillow on the couch before I laid down with the blanket over top of me, and soon I fell asleep.
