The lights were off and the deafening silence is growing. I sat down on the far end seat of the arena, as i looked around slowly. It has been a good year for me. I just released Deeper, a very successful concert and He just came back. I couldnt ask for more and that thought made me smile.
I sighed happily when I heard my assistant called.
"It's time for you to see them," she said and i nodded and smiled as i followed her. She meant the guests, visitors, friends and bosses.
"Julie! Congratulations sa successful na concert mo," Miss Wilma came to give me a congratulatory kiss and hug and smile. I hugged her tight and thanked her from the bottom of my heart.
"It's been a good year. And a good one. Keep creating music, my dear. You are so talented!" Another sweet words from Sir David. We gave each other a nice warn hugs and i was then teary eyed. Hindi ko na din alam ang sasabihin ko sa kanila as other of my bosses came to express their beautiful words to me.
I stayed at their table for an hour or so to talk about my past year journey with my careers. There were laughters and pouts and tears in between the conversations. Im beyond happy and lucky to be surrounded by these very genuine and loving people. Without them, i wouldnt be here.
After our long talks, Tita Wilma came up to me to whisper something in my ears that made my face so red.
"I can see the ring, my darling." Her huge smile on her face cannot be painted. I smiled back and held her hand and nodded. I know she knew what i meant about this gesture.
"I know, honey. Im so happy for both of you. Congratulations! You've been through alot. It's about time," she said her meaningful words and we hugged again.
"Thank you po," were the only words tht came out of my mouth as i hugged her tight.
She rubbed my back and loosened our embrace and said,
"He's looking at you, puntahan mo na." Tita Wilma let me go. I nodded and walked towards him. Towards my Elmo who i have fallen deeply inlove with.
His arms wounded around me. He's her with me!
"Thank you for beung here tonight. It's a special one. But you made it more than special. Thank you, baby," i was again teary eyed.
He held my face as he smiled.
"I love you. And from now on, i'm not gonna miss any event of your life. Im not going anywhere. Im here. I love you freely, i love you deeply," he said and im melting with his words. My heart races as his lios invaded mine. It's good to have been hidden in a dim light area of the room.
When i felt him smile, we let go and i heard him say something but i couldnt manage to process it because Dev and my friends were dragging me away fron my Elmo. But i think i heard him say "see you in two weeks, my love."
Or sounds like that. He just told me he'll never leave so i might heard his words wrongly.
So we talked and seated infront of a round table as we chatter after their congratuatory messages for me.
"Wait! Julie babe! Bakit yang sing sing?" Bea stood up and held my hand and lifted it to show infront of everybody. Wala na nga ata akong kawala. Dev gave a very meanungful smile to Bea and i knew she got what it means. Bea gasped happily and her hands flew over her mouth and the others started screaming.
"Engaged na ang baby Julie namen!" i heard Yassi making some noise and the others followed. Nagkagulo na sila. They gave me a group hug and the next thing i knew there eere rain flashes of camera. Napailing na lang ako. I know i cant forever hide this. And i know that me being engaged will be the talk of the town again the next day. I sighed happily for the nth time tonight.
