Chapter 25. Christmas

Kades POV

After Ian left my room I started to pack my bag to go to Danny's mom's house. I am kind of excited, but also I feel like I am going to throw up. I just want to make a good impression. I hope that she likes me.

I grab a pair of clothes out of my closet for tomorrow. It consisted of a yellow tee shirt, a pair of baggy blue jeans, and my Monét crew neck. Then I went over to my dresser and grabbed a pair of pajamas.

The pajamas were too small for me, but I'm not going to whine about it.

After I was done packing I went to the bathroom to shower and get kind of ready. I walked into the bathroom and then walked right back out, remembering that I needed clothes.

I go over to my bed and grab the Christmas sweater that Danny left me. It was honestly cute, not going to lie.

I went back into the bathroom and turned on the shower. I got in and the hot water hit my body. I winced a little bit at first, but eased into the hot water pouring onto me.

After I finished up in the bathroom, it was time to go. It was finally time to meet my Grandma.

I head downstairs and see Danny sitting at the kitchen table with a bag next to them. "You all ready?" I nodded and smiled. I sat next to them pulling out my phone. I smiled at the text from Kayla, displayed on my notifications.

r u guys coming over for friendsmas on the 26th???

Yeah. i think ian has a dr appt the next day so idk if we can stay over but ilyk

With that I shut off my phone. "Hey Danny?" I got his attention. "Yeah mermaid?" I smiled at the nickname. "On the twenty sixth when we go to Kayla's, can we stay the night there?" I was so hopeful that they would say yes. "Yeah. I will just be there early to get you guys, because Ian has his doctors appointment."

I smiled and thanked them. I have noticed that Danny has looked uncomfortable every time I use he/him pronouns, so I started using they/them and they seem much less uncomfortable.

"Ian! Hurry up, we are going to be late!" I shout up the stairs. Danny smiles a little bit at our stupidity.

Soon enough Ian comes down the stairs, bag in hand. "You guys ready?" Danny stands up. We both nod. "Okay, let's go!" Danny squeals like a little kid, and we head out the door.

The drive up to Azusa was so scary. I was so nervous to meet my grandma. I hope she likes me. But eventually we pulled into a driveway to a nicer house on the block.

I grab my bag and we get out of the car. "Home sweet home." Danny smiles and laughed.

We walk up to the front porch, which was gorgeously decorated with Christmas decor, and Danny takes out a key and puts it in the lock. They turn the handle and just before I know it we are walking in the home.

"Mom! I'm here!" Danny shouts through the house. I set my bag down next to the front door and Ian copies me.

"Hi baby!" Danny's mom, who I learned her name is Bonnie, comes from the kitchen wrapping her kid in a hug. They break their embrace and she looks at Ian and I. "Hi my grand babies." She pulls both of us into a hug. That was something I was not prepared for but something that I eased into.

She let go of us and smiled. "I am so glad I finally get to meet you two after so many months." She laughed a little bit and playfully glared at Danny.
