Dorcas' POV:

Not many people who don't really know me might guess this, but I meant what I said yesterday. I will kill the one who did this.

I might seem calm and collected to the outsiders, even more when compared to some of my friends. Or my girlfriend, for that matter. But once you strike me or my girls (Marls or Pandora, my too pure best friend), you're dead.

So naturally, whoever set the order for the Death Eaters to kill Marls, will be dead soon.

"The thing is that you don't kmow Dorcas!" Pandora pleads. "How are you planning on figuring it out?"

I have to admit she's got a point. I don't have a way of figuring out who did this. Lily asked me this question yesterday afternoon, soon after everyone except her had left. Thing is, I've already got my solution: I will just kill as many of the Death Eaters as possible. Voldemort even, if I can get the chance. I tell Panda as much, but she seems to worry even more now.

"Dorcas, you're going to get yourself killed!" She sounds like she's begging by now. She's trying to make me see reason, and maybe she is right. Maybe I shouldn't do this, but I just have to. And I can't honestly be bother- ed that much about the consequences right now.

"You do realize Evan and Barty are Death Eaters, don't you?" Panda reminds me. "Our best friends-"

"Old best friends. They're not our friends now, it's war, Panda, don't you see?"

I've always respected her decision to stay out of most of the war, but I need her to see that she can't act like it isn't there at all. We can't go back to how it used to be, when we were still in school.

"Evan is also my twin brother..." Panda is sadly muttering, defeated. A stab of guilt hits me, but I push it away quickly. It might hurt her, but the truth hurts sometimes; that doesn't mean she shouldn't hear it.

"I won't go looking for Evan and Barty, I promise," I say to compensate. "I don't hon- estly believe they did this. It's just that maybe they did, I don't know anymore. But for you, I can try to avoid them."

This seems to calm her a little bit, although she still looks sad. "I just don't want to lose you too, Dorcas."

"Maybe you won't have to."

"You don't believe I'll lose you?"

I have to say, I don't necessarily believe I'll survive this war. I mean, there's no guaran- tee whatsoever. Especially if I start hunting Death Eaters like I'm suicidal. This kind of is a suicide mission. But maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to avange my girl before it's over. Then my mission is done.

"You'll lose me eventually Panda," I say. "Death is inevitable, you know that as well as I do. And I can tell you now, I'm not gonna let you die before me. I'll make sure I die first."

"Don't do this, please!" She's started crying now. I wipe the tears from her face, but I feel the tears coming in my own eyes.

"I have to Panda. For Marlene. For her fam- ily, even if they don't actually know I'm their Daughter-In-Law. For me..."

Once she realizes she can't convince me, she leaves me to it. Or maybe she is just distan- cing herself in advance, so she won't get hurt too badly. Whatever the reason, I'm glad she left: I need to start, today.

I know quite a few Death Eaters, most of whom I know where to find, too. It's way easier than it all sounds, really. They aren't expecting me to come and find them, so it'll be a shock.

The first one I have on my list is Mulciber. I absolutely despised that guy at Hogwarts, so that's a bonus. It's a little bit of a revenge for Mary too.
