It was a great afternoon, or else otherwise, it could've been raining, shops across the streets were just about to close, the sky filled with clouds, a rain was easy to predict. a great time for Maggie to get a freshly made coffee, or a great time to shoot her shot, rather.
"here for another coffee, I presume?" Nina asked, as she ceased herself from whipping an empty table, taking a glimpse at the woman who had just entered her shop, "We were about to close, good thing you made it in time."
Maggie hesitated for a second,"Uh- yes, I would like- ah, coffee, please. just the—"
"—ah, let me guess, the usual?" Nina interrupted, with a grin, proud of it, even, making the blonde Smile.
Nina made her way to the counter, "I mean, that was an easy guess, you always visit the shop ordering the same bloody drink... let's just hope for the best and see if we can add anything unusual to it."
Maggie chuckled, amused by Nina's cunning idea, "Well, it's not going to be usual anymore, innit?" she derided, "But- you do you, I won't judge."
"well, thankfully. I've heard enough judgment in my life," Nina sighed, but then reached out a mug, "here's your coffee, the usual."
"Thank you, and I... want to ask you about something." Maggie hesitated, "If you're free next weekend?"
"Yeah sure, I don't think I can decline invitations today."
"Really? but, wouldn't your partner mind?"
"well, about that, we broke up, just a week ago."
"oh, I'm so sorry for bringing it up—"
"no, no, It's great, actually. If we were still together, I couldn't do things I want, she'll judge me here, there, everywhere! and it's irritating me." Nina responded, as she went across the counter, "so, what's your plan?"
"Well.. since you're entirely free, I think maybe we could go out for a bit, you know, talk about each other- I wanna know you better."
Nina stared at her for a second, then smiled, "you're asking for a date?" She asked, as her brows were pinning up.
"Yes, that- sort of.. so, is it a yes?"
"Of course, yeah." Nina then handed her a paper, "here's my number, don't ask why it's already prepared, I needed it for urgent purposes."
Maggie chuckled, "well, you already told me the reason, so I definitely won't."
"so, where exactly do you want to meet up?"
"Ritz, at exact eight p.m"
"You got it."
