CHAPTER FOUR
( DINNER )
( ♱ ) ━━━━━ SHE COULD SWEAR THAT HE WAS CRAZY. Not only was he a suicide freak but he was also crazy.Somehow, the boy had found where she had been earlier that day. Which was the park since she told him, but still. He had proposed dinner that night.
To take her out and give her an actual dinner that night since who knows how long it has been since she last did. At first, she didn't have an answer for him. She only stare at him before reluctantly giving in— telling Dazai that she accepted his offer.
Shiemi didn't know what to think during the hours leading up to his eventual return at the park. She just wandered the area before deciding on a bench to rest on.
Her body relaxing against the wooden bench and she closed her eyes. Breathing in and out lightly. She didn't understand why Dazai wanted to take her out for dinner especially since it had been so sudden.
The last time she has spoken to him she had revealed that she was homeless, since he was so curious, and now he wants to treat her to dinner. It was weird, definitely. But she couldn't really complain. It was free food and she couldn't remember the last time she had an actual full meal.
Besides cigarettes, starving herself had been another way of killing herself slowly. She at least ate one small thing a day in order to not out right die, but it was never enough for her stomach. It needed more but she never gave it more. She only gave it the bare minimum of food.
And so, the girl sat on one of the benches closest to the entrance of the park. A part of her was hoping that Dazai was truthful when he asked to take her for dinner. She needed the food, honestly.
Shiemi's hands laid flat against her inner thigh, keeping them warm as a breeze pushed past her body. She hoped for him to show up sooner.
"Hey," The heavens above answered her prayers. "Did I keep you waiting?" Dazai's voice held more life than the last time she heard him. Maybe he had gotten better, maybe.
"Not really, no." But her voice was the same. There was no getting better on her end. "But I don't mind waiting, as long as you weren't lying in the first place."
"Do you think I'd lie?"
"People have done it before, so I'm not sure what to think." She shrugged lazily and stood from the bench, stretching her arms outwards in the process. "Besides I've only known you for a week at most. What trust can I really have for you?"
