() ━━━━━ DAZAI COULDN'T FIND SHIEMI AS EASILY AS BEFORE. He searched the usual spots where he could find her, but she was nowhere to be seen.

They had left off on a weird note the night before and he didn't even get to say goodnight to the girl. She had walked off and left him to lonesome. It was a rough night for him.

So when he couldn't find her, he grew worried. He had no clue as to where the girl could've been. It's not like she had a proper home and had been hiding— she was always inside in the park.

Dazai frantically searched the area surrounding the park next— he had a terrible feeling. Something had bothered him but he didn't know what. His dark brown eyes would constantly be searching everywhere around him; in hopes that he would even catch a glimpse of the girl.

He knew he had to have been overreacting. It's not like she was suicide obsessed like himself— from what he knew. He didn't expect to find her dead body anywhere, just her living and breathing self to be nearby. That's all he wanted at that moment. The comfort of knowing the strange girl was still alive.

"Shiemi!" He couldn't stop himself from blurting her name once his eyes had finally found her figure. She was alive psychically, but her eyes looked dead. "Where have you been?" Dazai lightly grabbed her forearm, staring into her dull hues.

She simply stared back without any reaction, just a blank look. "I've been around. I'm not always inside the park." The girl shrugged off his hold on her arm and took a small step back, confusing the boy. "Is there something you need?" Even her tone sounded dead.

A switch had definitely flipped within the girl since the night before.

"Are you okay?" Dazai was hardly ever one to ask other people that question. It felt weird.

"Yeah." Her eyes broke contact and looked at her feet instead. "I don't know. I'm just here."

"Do you want to explain it?" He looked at the girl with furrowed brows, wanting to help her. Dazai Osamu wanted to help someone. "I was worried since I couldn't find you. Seeing you acting like this doesn't help." He was always so blunt with his words, especially during conversations like this.

"It's really none of your business. I don't get why you want to know so bad." Shiemi crossed her arms with a distant look in her eyes. "Look, Dazai, I just needed a breather. Being stuck in one place like that weighs down on me and I've been in that park too long. I don't mean to be a bitch necessarily, I'm just not myself fully."
