he comforted his crying girlfriend. his arm were wrapped around her as she sobbed into his chest.

minjae's father had gotten hired for a job in america, and so he had to move there.

minjae gulped down the knot in his throat and laid his chin on top of her head.

sookyung picked up her head and looked minjae in the eye.
and her state broke his heart into a million pieces.
it reminds him of the night they met.

minjae was starting to walk home, when rain started dripping from the sky.
he sighed and put his hood up.
while he was walking he saw a girl curled up into a ball, crying.

minjae slowly walked up to her.
" are you okay? "
the girl wiped her tears and looked up at him.

minjae crouched down and looked at her.
" you were crying, are you okay? "
the girl chuckled and shook her head.
" to be honest, no. "
minjae stood up and offered her a hand. she smiled and took it.
" my boyfriend stood me up, and then broke up with me over text. if you were curious. "
minjae widened his eyes and looked at her.
" seriously? that's terrible. "
she nodded as they started walking.
" yeah, it was kind of out of the blue. "
minjae smiled and looked at her.
" well, what,were you guys going to do today. "
" i don't know, just walk around town. "
he grabbed her hand and looked at her.
" i'll be your boyfriend for tonight, come on. "
they started running in the rain, trying to find somewhere to go inside.
it was a warm night, the stars were out and shining brightly.

the two started running towards a bus stop,p.
when they got under the tiny glass walls they laughed and smiled at each other.

minjae smiled at her and grabbed a leaf from her hair.

" i'm sookyung. "
minjae checked the bus number and route.
" will this bus take you home? "
sookyung nodded and watched the bus drive up to them. she grabbed his hand and looked at him.

when the bus arrived at near her house they got off and continued walking.
" you're in high school... right? "
minjae laughed and nodded his head.
" yes, i'm a senior. "
" do you go to the one in anyang? "

sookyung gasped and and jumped up and down.

minjae smiled at her and squeezed her hand.
" but, how come i've never seen you before? "
" ah, i'm a grade below you. "
he nodded his head and continued walking.
" my house is right there. "
the two walked up to her front door.
" wait here, for a second. "
sookyung ran inside and grabbed an umbrella. she smiled to herself and went back outside.

sookyung handed it to minjae.
" oh, thanks. "
" i guess this is it then. "
he nodded and looked at her.
sookyung kissed him on the cheek and smiled.
" thank you minjae. "
that night, while he walked home, the rain wasn't that bad. because the thought of sookyung made everything else a little bit better.
