Ch-16| Way ahead

Niki POV

I was at my classroom sitting by myself since my friends had went to the cafeteria to get something, everyone has been talking about the tournament that occurred last night and even started to point at me

"i heard Neo Dream lost last night" someone whispered

"yeah maybe Jay is the new ACE in our university" again another one whispered (DJ Khaled another one)

"Neo Dream was lagging behind alot i swear" here goes another one, and they were pointing at me like i couldn't see them

"Niki really has a rival" they kept on whispering to each other

"hey do you mind if I sit here for a while?" a voice interrupted my thoughts

"oh su-Jake hi" i simply smiled at him, I mean he wasn't a bitch like Jay afterall

"thanks, I'm waiting for my friends" he sat beside me, obviously he was sitting on Jay's seat i assume they haven't arrive till now

"congrats you guys did well" i said to him 

"thanks alot but i say you were better than everyone last night" Jake says to me, I guess if our teams weren't rivals we would have clicked along well

"but still we lost" i said disappointed

"doesn't matter if you guys lost i think it's about teamwork that actually matter" Jake says to me, i really appreciate what he said

"I don't think we will get anywhere if we keep talking about our match do you like pocky sticks" Jake says taking out a small box of pocky sticks , it's my favourite but I had to act normal

"PO-uh yeah sure thanks alot I'll have one" I cleared my throat taking out one pocky

"you can have more" Jake says handing me the box, i happen to see a bruise on his left hand

"are you okay?" I asked to him

"am I okay? I am fine just take it" he says with a smile, but it took him a while to realise that I was staring at his bruise

"what happened?did you go to a doctor to check it?" worry started to creep on my mind

"I'm fine, yeah I did, I fell from the stairs and scratched my arm last night" Jake says with a smile like it was nothing and I am sitting here thinking about a silly game I lost, people really do have bigger problems to think about

"you should be careful it must have hurt alot" i said to him with a smile

"I'm fine thanks for being concern about me" he says

"hey Niki i bought you the milkshake you asked" Jisung says walking up to me, while I was shamelessly shoving another pocky stick in my mouth shit

"uh thank you how much is it?" I asked him taking out my wallet

"you don't have to pay it's fine" Jisung says with a smug grind, okay what the hell was going on

*Samuel paid* Lia says with action

"hey guys" Jake says to them uneasily since they were staring at him like they saw a ghost

"what's he doing here?" Jisung asked in annoyance

"hey Jake congrats for last night" Lia says shaking his hand, she hated every single one of them except for Jake she said that he was an exception

"thanks" he says, but Jisung was still not having it

"you still haven't answered my question" Jisung stared blankly at me

"oh he is waiting for his friends don't mind him Jake" I assured Jake while answering Jisung's question too

"I understand it's not easy for everyone" Jake says

"Jake you can have this and gain more energy" i said to him, that's the least I can do for having a friend like Jisung
who doesn't give two fcks about people

"but it's yours and obviously you must be thirsty" Jake says to me refusing to accept it

"I don't really like strawberry flavour that much you can have it" I lied but he was not even my friend so he wouldn't notice the lie

"if you want me to have it then thanks alot" Jake says accepting it

"just don't go stumbling over and missing stairs" i said with a smile

"trust me I won't are we friends now?" Jake asked me

"of course we are" i exclaimed

"he's starting to forget us again" Lia says to Jisung

"I know, you better not steal him from us" Jisung says looking serious

"why would I" Jake laughed

"you see we live in a generation where no one can be trusted" why was he starting to sound like my dead grandfather i was worried his spirit went inside him

"you really need to shut your mouth" Lia says glaring at him

"no it's fine he sounds like Heeseung hyung" Jake says nodding his head

"they even look alike sometimes" I agreed along with him

"Jake you coming?" Jay interrupted us

"oh okay wait you guys go ahead" Jake says to him

"oh it's the losers why are you hanging out with them?" Jay says glaring at me

"bitch not your fucking problem" I said to him

"he's my friend I can say shit I want" Jay says to me

"Jay just go ahead I need to do something" Jake says softly pushing him towards his friends

"what? apologize to these losers?" Jay rolls him eyes

"we don't want you here so just leave" i said to him before Jisung could do anything bad

"yeah whatever loser" he says walking away

"I'm really sorry for his behaviour" Jake says to us

"nah we don't mind anything we are used to it" i said to him with a smile but he looked at Jisung

"oh yeah totally we don't mind that asshole at all" Jisung rolled his eyes

"oh yeah can I have your number?" Jake asked me taking out him phone

"oh sure" i said typing in my number

"thanks I'll see you around bye" Jake says walking out of the classroom

After they left Jisung was mumbling about how annoying they were to us we had to stuff in a roll of tissue in his mouth to stop him from complaining although they were exactly how Jisung pictured them I don't think they are actually bad people from my view

"why are you even befriending him?" Lia asked me confused

"come on at least he's not an ass like Jay" i said remembering his face earlier

"he got that one ugly eye roll" Lia says to me

"I'm pretty sure he still haven't found his brain which is why he kept rolling his eyes" i said making her nod in agreement while we laughed about it

I am pretty sure this is the last update until October since I neeed to start studying
This chapter was just Jaki nothing much I'll put Jayki in the next chapter

It's full of cringe ass moments but thank you for reading it
