Ch-24 | carnival

Niki 's POV

While we were discussing about our assignments Jay suddenly leaned in close to my face making me froze all of a sudden because of his action

"Jay what are yo-you doing?" I asked heavy breaths coming from me trying to move away from him

"you've got a bit of cream over your face and it was bothering me" Jay says slowly taking out a tissue and wiping the cream

"oh..thanks you could have just told me" i said while my cheeks flushed red with embarrassment

"doesn't matter" Jay mumbles sitting down on his seat staring at his notebook

"maybe its enough for today we even got other homeworks left" I said staring at him waiting for his answer

"I guess we should" Jay agrees packing up his books inside his bag

"what time are we meeting tomorrow?" I asked him hoping he won't feel annoyed because I keep talking too much right now

"just call me when you are free" Jay answers coldly standing up

"okay then see you tomorrow" I said looking down at the floor

"yeah see you" Jay says about to walk outside when he stopped

"you can be fine by yourself right?" Jay asked staring at me with a straight face

"don't worry I'll call up someone if I do finish my shift late" I said with a smile, feeling touched by how concerned he was

"I guess I get going then call me if you need someone to drive you homework" Jay says walking out of the cafe, it felt so unreal for a minute

"he does care" I mumbled to myself

While I was about to start my shift the manager walked to me while was white suspicious

"Niki you can take a day off don't worry" the manager says with a smile

"but what about-" I was confused, the manager was actually a good person but still after extending my shift which was requested by a stranger why would he give me an off

"you look very busy these days you can take an off for this weekend" the manger says patting my back

"I.....thank you so much manager nim" I quickly bowed to him

"I'll see you on monday then" the manger says walking inside his office

"oh guess who got off for thus weekend" a voice said from behind

"shut it Jiung its not like he's being unfair" I said putting on my hoodie

"yeah yeah whatever see you I have work to do" Jiung says walking away

"sure you do" I laughed walking out of the cafe, it was kind of late like around 7 pm and since I was inside the cafe for around 20 minutes Jay would be gone so I just decided to walk home like an evening walk

"guess I'll be going alone" I mumbled holding onto my hoodie, I checked my phone I had messages from Samuel, Jisung, Lia and on the top was a message from Jake

"what does he need" I mumbled opening up his message

Pepero Jake : so like there is this carnival going on and i want to go there but all my friends are busy
