Mountain People

Newt's POV:

We've been stuck in this car for about an hour and honestly I would rather take walking in the scorch than this. Minho is behind yanking my hair and telling bloody terrible jokes, Tommy is being love birds with Teresa, Brenda keeps looking back at Tommy and rolling her eyes because she's jealous, Winston and Fry are playing this stupid game where you slap each other's hand, and I'm in this bloody uncomfortable position because stupid love bird won't move an inch. I'm starting to like Jorge more because he is the only one who isn't being annoying right now, well actually that's not true because he and Tommy have this ridiculous plan of meeting people in the mountains. I don't think I can do this for another hour. I might just catch up on some sleep. I lay my head down on the window, forcefully move Tommy, and get comfortable. I close my eyes and try to fall asleep.

"Newt why do you have to go?" Lizzy says.

" Lizzy, you know why. I don't have a choice. WICKED is forcing me to, but I promise I will find you, no matter if they take my memories away or they take you away from me, I will find you and recognize you immediately." I tell her.

" Don't make promises you can't keep. You don't know what's going to happen in the future. You don't have to promise me something. All I need from you is a hug and an I love you."

" I love you Lizzy. No matter what happens."

" I love you too Newt, no matter what happens."

3 WICKED guards enter through the doors. One motions me to separate from my sister and the other two grab both of my arms. They lead me out the door and into a hallway. One lets go and slaps me across my face. Another punches me in the stomach. They walk/drag me to this room where exam beds are laid out and something is above them on the ceiling. They bring me to one and force me to lay down. One is tying my legs with straps while the other two are doing the same but with my arms. The guards leave and Ava Paige along with Janson walk in.

" Newt you will be put under a procedure that preps you for living here. Just making sure that you are ready." Ava says.

Doctors come in and stand above me. The last thing I see is the thing above me, coming closer to my face.

Thomas POV:

Newt has fallen asleep. Brenda keeps shifting in her seat. Minho is annoying all of us with his terrible joke. Winston and Fry are talking to each other. Teresa is looking out the window almost falling asleep. This feels like what would be a family road trip to some surprise place. Jorge has been telling Brenda and me multiple things about what WICKED has done and how the Right Arm was an enemy from the start. I look out the front window and see that we are on the road at what looks like a mountain range. Up ahead there are a bunch of cars blocking the road. Jorge gets out and gives us a signal that's it's okay. I wake up Newt and tell him to get out.
