Eight months later, Mystic Falls

"Do it Lizzie!" Said Josie to her twin. Lizzie looked down and shook her head. "It will hurt her, she is my friend" Josie narrowed her eyes, she harshly grabbed her twin's arm. "She is a monster Lizzie! Remember what father told us? Vampires are the enemies!"

"But mom is a vampire!"

"She is mom, Lizzie! Don't be silly, she is never the enemy!" Lizzie frowned. "Then Ophelia is not the enemy as well!"

Josie slapped her head. "You dummie! Fine, I will do it again! Just know that you are a coward" Lizzie shrugged, she would rather be a coward than a bully.

Josie entered Ophelia's playroom and closed the door behind her. Ophelia looked at her with wide open eyes as she tried to back down. "Josie, please, leave!" She whispered harshly. She was scared of her. Josie smirked and shook her head.

"I want to play with you, and show you some new tricks I've learned" She smiled sweetly. "Would not you want that?"

"You always say that, you always hurt me then!" Now Ophelia was in tears, her voice was a bit louder than the usual. "I don't want that kind of game again!"

Josie shrugged and harshly grabbed her arm. Realizing she was not able to siphon, she looked at her, noticing her necklace was on. She ripped it off and pressed her hand against her arm. Ophelia cried in pain and at that exact moment, Hope entered the room.

"Let her go!" Josie was thrown against the wall and started to cry immediately, making all the parents rush to the room.

Elena's eyes widened and looked at the little Josie who was crying on the ground, as well as her little daughter who was in tears. She rushed to Ophelia as Klaus kneeled down beside Hope.

"What happened, Leah, why are you crying baby? Did something happened?" Ophelia was scared to talk. She had never spoken, not about what Josie was doing. "Baby answer me"

"Josie was trying to siphon her. I threw Josie to the wall. She was hurting Ophelia, Lizzie alerted me" Everyone was stunned. Klaus was looking at his daughter with shock yet admiration, but mostly shock. "You did what?"

Everyone looked at Caroline and for a second Elena was ready to literally fight her, thinking she was talking to Hope. However she calmed down when she saw her speaking with Josie.

"You did what, Joise? Are you out of your mind! How could you hurt your friend!" Josie looked at her mother and frowned. "But mommy! Daddy said they were the enemy! The vampires!"

Caroline looked at Joise with wide open eyes. She also looked at her husband with shock. "You said that? Alaric, what the hell is wrong with you? I am a vampire! God, Elena is vampire-"

"I told her Mikaelsons were the enemy! And I am right-"

"Leah is a fucking kid Alaric!" Caroline almost screamed at her husband. "Take Josie and go back to house, we will talk about this. Josie, you are not allowed to use your powers-"

"Who are you to say that!" Alaric yelled at his wife. Caroline scoffed. "I am her mother, so now go to house and wait for me to come back!"

Alaric had no choice but to leave with Josie. Lizzie was watching them from afar and listening to them as their father lectured her sister. She sighed and sat down to the floor.

She felt someone sitting next to her. She frowned when she saw Kol. "Hey kiddo"

"Hey" She answered quietly as she continued looking at the floor. "What you did, alerting Hope, was really brave of you. I hope you know that" Lizzie nodded. Sure she was brave for going against Josie. "Just know that, whatever your father had said to you; we are not the enemy. We are Leah's family, and Leah is your friend; so we are also your friends" Lizzie nodded calmly.

"You know, I am old, I am older than a thousand. What I've learned in those thousand years is, never hate someone for no reason. Never perceive them as the enemy just because what they are" Lizzie now looked at him and smiled a bit. "I don't hate vampires. I love Leah!" She said quietly.

Kol chuckled. "I know, Leah loves you too" Lizzie smiled and watched as Kol stood up. "If you ever need a little help with your magic, you can always come to me or Freya for help. We would love to help you" He then gave out his hand to her. "Come on kid, your mother must have been worried" Lizzie nodded and stood up, they walked up to the room.

Caroline hugged her blonde daughter and placed a kiss on her forehead. "I guess it is best if we go now" Elena nodded and sadly smiled to her best friend. Caroline held Elizabeth's hand and smiled at her. "Mommy, I made a friend today"

"Oh, who that friend might be?"

"Uncle Kol" Caroline looked at her daughter, smiling. It was weird of her to call Kol uncle yet it was a sweet thing to hear. "That is lovely, Uncle Kol is a great person and he is a friend of mine too" Elizabeth smiled with happiness and they walked out of the house.

"I will kill him!"

"You will not" Elena said calmly. Eight months changed a lot between them. She seemed more forgiving and embracing while he was still so determined to make her happier again, and with him this time. "You will not kill anyone, this is not New Orleans"

"Oh I know!" Elena looked at him, frowning and tilting her head at the same time. "Drop the attitude and I will give you ten bucks" Klaus scoffed which made Elena roll her eyes. "Sometimes it is hard to believe you have lived for a thousand years, quite immature"

"Oh shut it please, that megalomaniac forced upon a campaign on killing my family! How would you know what it feels like?" Elena let out a laugh and looked at Klaus. "Yeah, how would I know"

Klaus looked down in shame and embarrassment. "Sorry about that"

"About trying to kill my entire family or mentioning it?"

"Both"

"Good to hear" They both let out a chuckle. Yeah, eight months had changed indeed a lot. Yet no amount of change was enough for them to achieve the greater peace, or so it seemed when their door got knocked.

Katherine was brewing her coffee, sneaking some whisky in it, when she heard the door. She walked slowly, not wary or cautious, she passed through Kol and grabbed the door handle. "Are we expecting someone?"

"Not that I know" Katherine nodded and opened the door. Once again, she met the eyes that she was not sure if she would ever see again. "What are you doing here?"

Her voice alerted Kol. "Who is it, Katerina?"

"Hello Kol, long time" Kol raised his eyebrows and looked at Katherine, who was equally surprised. "A long time indeed, Stefan Salvatore"
