The atmosphere in the afternoon looks bright through the window, making Sunghoon's mood better than usual. The shiny pale-skinned teenage boy took his car keys from the nightstand and immediately trotted out of his room.

While going down the stairs, he saw his mother and father sitting together in the living room. Since today is Sunday, so his parents don't go to work.

"Where are you going?" Asked the mother to her son who was already walking towards the front door.

"Practice for the band." Sunghoon answered casually.

"Oh sorry sweetheart, I forgot to talk about this, but I asked you not to go out for today."

Sunghoon frowned. He looks confused.

"Why?"

Before his mother could answer, the doorbell rang.

The mother immediately pursed the corners of her lips and stepped forward to open the door.

"Good evening, Aunty Park." Said a beautiful girl with long dark brown hair.

"Oh good evening, honey.. I've been waiting for your arrival. Please, come in." Sunghoon's mother said after hugging her guest tightly and letting her in.

"Hello beautiful girl, long time no see,"
Mr. Park also stood up from his seat and welcomed the arrival of the girl who still made Sunghoon stand still with confusion on his face.

"Uncle Park, it's been a long time.. I'm glad to see you again." said the girl.

While Mr. Park and the guest were still chatting lightly, the mother pulled Sunghoon's wrist to join them.

"Sunghoon-ah, don't you recognize her?" asked the mother.

Sunghoon, who was still observing the girl, was silent as if he was lost in his thoughts.

"Sunghoon, it's me, Jeena."

The girl flashed her smile, breaking the silence in Sunghoon's brain.

"Jeena?"

The girl nodded.

"Yeah, 10 years is a long time, so I'd understand if you forgot about me. That's okay."

"Ahh.. yeah I remember. You're growing up really well, Jee-Jee."

Jee-Jee. The favorite nickname that Sunghoon gave to his little friend, Kim Jeena.

"So, starting today your Jee-Jee will live with us, Sunghoon." Said the mother who rejoined the chat.

"With—with us?"

"Yeah, from now on I will also consider Jeena as my daughter. So Sunghoon, please became a good brother." Said Sunghoon's father.

Long story short, before Sunghoon and Jeena were born into this world, their parents were best friends. Even their homes are neighbors.
Sunghoon and Jeena's mother gave birth to their children in the same year so they are the same age too.

The friendship between the parents also passed on to their children. Sunghoon is very close to Jeena. They often play together and sometimes even change homes for sleepovers.

But unfortunately when they were 7 years old, Jeena's had to leave Seoul and settle abroad to be precise in New York because of her father's job, so her family moved there. In the end, the two friends parted ways.

About three months ago, Jeena's family returned to Seoul after 10 years living in New York because Jeena's mother was sick. Maybe Jeena's mother felt a premonition in her, so she wanted to return to her homeland before she left forever. In the end the unwanted thing really happened, Jeena's mother passed away.
