"Jeena?!?"

"Jay?"

The two teenagers were still staring at each other.

"Wait, Jay... do you know Mr. Kim's daughter?"

"We go to the same school, Dad.."

"Really?? What a coincidence! Destiny works in funny ways, ha-ha-ha," said Jay's father, and the other parents joined in laughter.

"—by the way, please have a seat,"

The two families continued their casual conversation while waiting for the dinner to be served.

"So, Jeena, this is Mr. James Park and his wife. We met in New York. Their travel company collaborated with my company,"

"Annyeonghaseo, nice to meet you, Uncle and Aunty Park," the girl greeted Jay's parents, who turned out to be her father's friends.

"Nice to meet you too, Jeena. So, you already know our son too? That's great because it means this situation won't be awkward for you both," Mr. James Park said, gently patting his son's shoulder.

However, the two teenagers felt an immense awkwardness, contrary to what they just heard.

"Are you two in the same class too?" Mr. Kim asked.

"No, Uncle Kim. We're not in the same class, but our classrooms are next to each other." Jay answered, occasionally glancing at Jeena.

"Oh, that's fine. Many students are not in the same class but still become good friends, right?"

The married couple smiled and nodded, seemingly agreeing with Mr. Kim's statement.

"I'm quite surprised, especially since you two are the same age. Jay is our only child, and Jeena is also an only child, right? It would be great if you both could become closer friends. You won't feel lonely," Jay's mother said, leaving her son silent as he listened.

"Yes, Aunty Park. We are already good friends. Right, Jay?"

"Eh?? Yeah. We're good friends, mom. Don't worry."

"We know you're already good friends, but what I'm asking is to be closer friends. Jeena can occasionally visit our house. Jay is often alone at home because we're too busy with work. You can keep him company."

"Closer? You mean you want them to have a special relationship?" asked Mr. James Park with a smile, glancing at the two teenagers who tried their best to endure this situation.

"If they interpret my words that way, I won't deny it. I agree if they have a special relationship—"

"Mom—"

"Yeah, I agree too! Especially since Jay is such a handsome and charismatic young man. I already like him even though this is our first meeting," Mr. Kim said, interrupting Jay before he finished his words.
