This evening the sky ain't too bright, clouds look kinda grey, but it didn't make Jay change his plan to invite someone to the place where he usually enjoys his alone time.
"I didn't know if the school rooftop could be visited by students," Jeena said, still climbing the stairs, following Jay ahead who's leading the way.
"Yeah, it can be visited, but I've never seen other students come here. Just me."
Now they're both at the destination—the school rooftop feels deserted, maybe only the sound of chirping birds flying above them.
"You can see the sky clearer here, or just watch people passing by down there, it's kinda fun, and it's pretty calming here."
"Yeah, I like this place. Can I come here another time—maybe when I'm bored?" Jeena said, while exploring the place she's stepping on for the first time.
"Sure. But don't tell anyone, from now on let's make this our secret spot."
"Deal! By the way, is that the area where our school's garbage disposal is?" Jeena said, pointing to a place she had never seen but had heard of before.
"Yes, that's where Wonyoung dumped your sport uniform and where I confronted her."
"Uhm— about that thing.. I've totally blanked it out,"
"I heard she's still giving you a hard time and hasn't learned her lesson. I'm glad Ni-ki and Jake had your back then."
"Maybe she thinks I hurt her so bad that's why she's got so much hate for me. But it's cool, I still got you and the others."
"Your heart's too pure, that's what makes me admire you even more—"
Jay's gaze changed now, he looked at the girl with sparkling eyes, accompanied by the corners of his lips curling upward.
"There's actually something I want to tell you Jee, that's why I brought you here.."
"I'll listen.." Jeena said with a soft tone.
"Uhm— It's about two days ago..."
"..."
"That night.. I know I was really drunk, but I still remember it clearly. I don't know if you remember that incident too or not—"
"I remember, Jay," the girl cut Jay's sentence short.
"If you remember.. do you know we—kissed?"
"Yes.."
Jay took a brief breath before he returned to the main topic.
"Are you okay? I mean— I actually wanted to apologize if what happened that night made you uncomfortable afterwards, and I didn't mean to be a jerk. I realized I did it because— I have feelings for you..."
Jay just confessed his feelings.
