I groaned in pain, squinting my eyes when Erin opened the curtains to let the sunlight in, it only meant it was already seven in the morning, gosh, I wanted to sleep in, my whole body ached, and even lifting my eyelids took effort. but alas-I couldn't do so.

With another groan I got up from bed, Erin, my head housekeeper, generously draped a silk robe onto my shoulders, helping me wear it, my eyes were still halfway closed when I went into the bathroom.

"Would you like me to bring your breakfast here or would you be heading downstairs to the dining hall, Ma'am?" Her soothing voice graced my ears, what would I do without her?

"I'll be coming downstairs shortly, have my breakfast prepared there, that's all,"

"Of course, Ms Quintero."

I heard the door to my room being shut, I sighed, looking at my elbow, it had a large bruise, it took me some time to examine my newly bruised embellished stature, my skin looked dull after I had rubbed it dry yesterday night to take off the blood, my eyes looked glassy, well at least something didn't change.

After brushing my teeth I stepped into the shower, it didn't take me long to get ready, I had been following the same routine for a while of seven years now, and it became a habit after some time, you see.

I chose to wear a suit to hide the many bruises that were slowly making their appearance on my skin, the pain was bearable but the tabloids wouldn't be if someone saw even a glimpse of them.

Applying the red lipstick after my makeup routine, giving both my outfit and ashen skin a hint of colour, I dabbed my lips together, my eyes found the ring section glinting, in the reflection of the mirror, sighing, I made my way towards it, choosing the one shining most brightly, it was the same small diamond ring of Wiona that seemed to outshine others.
