Where is Apple?!

This is awful!

"Ahahaha! What a good day! What a good day.. I could let loose!" Strawberri cheered maniacally as she smiled wildly. "Today can be my end but I will end this with a smile."

I keep on being magnetically pulled to her-

And getting punched!

She's just playing with me at this point as I glanced at the cautious distance that Nobi was keeping at. Is it time for regrets? No.

Is it time for questions?

Absolutely! Where are you, Apple?! I need someone to take over here! Literally! Please!

I reinforced the vine walls as I struggled to have time for a proper strategy. This would be easier if I didn't have any allies to think of. Deploying my thorn method would be risky. Besides, I can barely stand upright.

Right when I asked the same question again, Apple finally showed up again. With a new weapon.. Why can't she fight with her fists?!

That would be more convenient.

"Hayah!" Apple voiced as she then slammed her spear onto Strawberri's shoulder as I rolled backwards to catch my breath in an corner. "Seventh step! Of eighteen ones!"

Cenobia carried on cheerfully firing its eye lasers sporadically as I made more repairs.

I don't even know how the cultists didn't notice this amount of noise and disturbance.

They sure are dedicated to their crafts.

Apple and Strawberri engaged in an fight that was an back and forth. Strawberri took the spear and then snapped it in half as Apple was propelled into her space. It had become an fist fight in no time. Well, Apple was more or less fighting with her feet.

As this fist fight moved about, I held my left thumb out as I closed my left eye to focus. This was likely a useless practice of focus for many. Several piercing thorns were grown out of the vine surroundings as I observed the fight intently.

Upon spotting the perfect opportunity, I then took a deep breath and then quickly shot the thorns out of the surrounding vines. Apple was a bit injured in the crossfire unfortunately. She had gotten an bleeding forearm injury from the thorns.

"I'm dead now..?" Strawberry spluttered as pools of pink blood were coughed out. She stared at her palms as it were stained with her blood. Before long, she fell down limp.

I managed to hit most of her torso.

Apple walked over steadily, with a decent amount of injuries, as she stared over at Strawberri's wide pink eyes. From either's prespectives, the other would be upside down in their eyes. Green blood slid down her right forearm as a puddle was created.

She murmured,"Would you still say that I'm naive? That I'll return to the bakery soon?"

"I'll die with no regrets," Strawberri vowed as the adrenaline and ambition died within.

Cenobia drifted to my side as it eyes the cyan-haired opponent warily. Nobi sure was lucky to have been uninjured throughout all of this. Or perhaps it was intending to be unscathed and remain in optimal condition.

"How fitting. The most quiet sister dies all alone," Apple muttered as Strawberri's eyes grew permanently dead. "Pity..."

I stood up and ran over to quickly take the thorn out of her forearm as we fled the scene. The vine surroundings were mostly stuck in place, but it would be unwise to just stick around for potential consequences. I'd like to have my end of this deal I've made.

"You want your information? I'll offer it now then," Apple sighed dully as we sat by an lone tree. "The Queen is allergic to batteries. She immediately falls apart when she sees a thousand in her presence. One battery wouldn't do. Also, her right shoulder is her most important weakness."

Apple's apple green hair swept calmly in the wind as I stared at her with loud skepticism.

She looked to me with narrowed eyes and retorted bluntly,"I'm being serious. The Queen's weakness is her right shoulder."

"Alright? I'll remember that," I responded as I didn't see the effort to clarify. "By the way, is the Queen coming over to kill me again?"

"Absolutely. The land is hers. I'll have to live a life being an advisor now since I would be promoted," Apple replied as she stood up from the tree and went onto the path. "After all, killing any person of head position causes a promotion. The bias is always there as punishments tends to be very lenient."

I stared at her silhouetted shadow.

Night had arrived.

This is the first time I see the area in night.

It's lonely.

Nobi slept soundly on my head as I held my hat in my hands. I questioned aloud,"Are you going to head back to the palace?"

"Of course. Just be ready when the Queen arrives to cut your throat again. Don't get decapitated like the first time," Apple said as she walked on the path in the darkness. "It was embarassing to hear about from the advsiors. Imagine getting decapitated there."

I waited as I then noticed an odd anklet.

I didn't notice it before as I was preoccupied with other things. It shined as its band had words that Acedia had written. I can't believe that I didn't stare down at my shoes this whole time. Probably because it was on my left ankle. When did they even have the chance to do this?!

[Mirror, you idiot. Actually, my excellent employee. This anklet will take you home when you finish fighting the Queen.]

I sighed as the glowing letterings glowed.

In a few moments, the Queen arrived.

I stood up as Cenobia woke up. I placed my hat on my head quickly. I called for more swords to rain from above as I was tossed around by her. Cenobia started shooting its lasers more freely due to the open area.
