"-so the creatures shall die," the final subject said. "That's all I have to say, your majesty."
They nodded in a united agreement. Whispers trembled about; the assembled crowds all wondered alike. What was the Queen to say? After all the hours of listening to each and every subject's thoughts and ideas patiently, what shall the Queen state?
All the subjects simultaneously held their breaths, filled with anticipation at what the Queen shall state at the end of this silence.
Nothing. It appeared that the Queen was silently gathering her thoughts. Acedia was buying more time by keeping their silence. Hopefully everything shall be done. Nothing more and nothing less. The approximate and appropriate amount of time to be quiet would be two minutes at least. Considering their regal and high disguise, they could perhaps gamble with five minutes. It's not as though ordinary Dahlians would have guts to go up and question the literal monarch
The silence continued.
A few sounds of some coughing and sneezing were easily heard in the hall.
When will their subordinates arrive? How hard must it be to approximately assassinate the rest of the residents in the first place? Oh give it up. Acedia took a deep breath and knew that the five minutes were up. It would be very suspicious to drag this out any longer. Surely someone would bring it up and spread the feeling that they are not the Queen. It would be a hindrance to even let a single one get ideas of their credibility.
"All good ideas my subjects," Acedia clearly addressed with confidence as they stood up. "It's quite a shame that I may need time to craft the perfect solution. Worry not. I will make sure that peace will be the eternal."
There everyone sighed of relief.
"You are all dismissed. I thank you all for your thoughts and ideas," they added slowly with a gaze, maintaining their neutral tone. "May our days continue to that brilliant prosperity and remain so, forevermore."
Once everyone heard that, they flooded out of the hall. Only one remained in the hall. It was the Head Advisor. He seemed confused.
"Your highness, why have you called an assembly? This is the first time in seventeen billion flower years that you have done this," he questioned as he took note of this major event with his clipboard. "You usually have everything under control, your majesty. Not that I am questioning your rule however I must seek reasons and motives for your actions as your head advisor."
Acedia spoke,"Ruling all alone throughout these long years dried my ideas naturally. A decay of the mind over time is only natural. It is a shame that I am no longer at my prime, but I shall continue to rule justly." It was a convincing reasoning; no one can easily dispute the strong and most logical explanation that was handed out.
"I see, your majesty."
