II: Sweet Rose

Third POV

When Katsuki's eyes fluttered open that morning, he turned over to see Izuku wasn't there.

Not surprising, as the alpha was always gone for his shady line of work before sunrise. Though, in his place was a rose and a note.

The 1,453rd rose.

Since the day they got married, Izuku gave Katsuki a red rose everyday without fail, and had never forgotten to do so.

It was routine.

And seeing as how their anniversary was now in 7 days, the 1,460th rose would be a white rose, just like all the other official years.

Katsuki picked it up and sniffed it like routine, picking up the note that read,

"You look so pretty when you aren't stressing over anything. Enjoy the shopping trip and get whatever your heart wants!"  -Izu

He let out a hum in his throat, before sliding out of bed and hobbling over to the walk in closet that held four vases.

Three of which were completely filled with red roses on the outside, while in the very center was a white rose to complete it. The fourth was still in the process of being completed as it grew.

Placing the rose delicately in, a content smile was placed on Katsuki's lips before he wedged the note card into a small box that still had all the other ones.

He then inspected the room for a moment, before looking up to the second level.

"Let's find something to wear..."

• • • OFA Company HQ • • •

Izuku sat in his office, on the highest floor of the company.

Staring down at the street below in the high rise building, before his gaze wandered back to the photographs that were framed on his desk.

The photo to the left of the dual screens was an old photograph of his late mother, Inko Midoriya and his late adopted father (and predecessor of the business) Toshinori Yagi.

Story went Toshinori had found his mom while she was pregnant with him all alone and abandoned by his real father and he happened to take pity because as he put it, someone as perfect as her should never have to stress anymore.

However, truth came to light when Toshinori found out that, that the very child he help to birth and look after was actually the child of someone he despised the most.

Even so, what with the things he'd seen, heard and even experienced, he knew that wasn't going to deter him as he took Izuku under his wing and tutelage, with a piece of advice.

Sometimes you can't always follow what's expected, chose between your heart and gut and compromise between them to get the best outcome regardless our outside opinion.

That very quote stuck with him, even now after both of their passing and is how he ended up with someone like Katsuki.

He turned to the photo on the right; a scene taken straight out of their wedding.

A picture of just Katsuki in his official wedding attire, with the prettiest smile he'd ever seen that he just had to save this image for later.

He planned to officially have it blown up, oil painted and hanged in his office at home eventually.

Just then he was disturbed by a knock at the door.

"Come in." He called, looking over to see one of his friends, "I was waiting for you, Todoroki."

"I take it the traffic wasn't too bad from Kanagawa?"

The Alpha with split colored hair and heterochromia eyes, shrugged all the while adjusting his turtleneck.

"It was fine," Todoroki nodded, "apologizes for the tardiness, Sero needed to be dropped off at the mall." Referring to his beta boyfriend of three years.

"Apparently he's with Bakugo?"

Izuku hummed, "If I'm right, Kaminari should be joining them soon, Kirishima said he just dropped him off at our manor."

Izuku walked behind a wall divider, between the actual office and another area where a dumbwaiter was situated, with a kitchen situated two floors beneath, where a small dining table with four seat were located.

Just incase he wanted to eat privately.

He went into the small mini fridge and picked up some water, handing it over to his longtime friend.

"So tell me," Izuku started, taking his own seat, "Did you figure out the potentials?"

"This season is supposed to be being in big money, but we've been getting fleeced for the past two times and it's getting quite irritating."

Todoroki nodded, placing his hands behind his head, "It took all night for the favor, but I didn't get any promising leads that persuaded me to think otherwise from other business partners."

"Humor me," Izuku pushed, "anyone at least close enough?"

"Anyone we know of declining or soon to be declining families? Third party shippers?" Todoroki explained, "Hatsume, Katsukame, Akaguro..."

Just then the door opened and Kirishima entered.

With a toothy grin, the alpha took a seat and declined on water already aware of the conversation at hand from what he heard when approaching.

"Combined with the Iida family, went bankrupt and the last one is in jail with all assets either frozen or confiscated." Kirishima listed respectively for each potential candidate, "Anyone else with closer ties?"

"It's just us, along with the Iida family and Uraraka family; it's my own, Midoriya and yours that do main shipping with our own people," Todoroki nodded along.

Izuku pinched his chin, "I haven't heard much buzz from the Uraraka family in a while, what with everything that's gone on they've basically flown under the radar."

"Then it should be them that is investigated," Kirishima bluntly stated, "I just got the phone with Iida, and he asked me to relay to you that some of his weapons for trade seemingly got lost during transit and now they're missing a hefty amount of money."

"Do you want me to make the meeting?" Todoroki questioned, "It is a bit strange they haven't said anything about missing money."

"No need," Izuku dismissed, "A week ago, the head asked for us to meet because he wanted to make a personal proposition, and I've yet to respond only because I had no interest."

"But, now I guess I do."

A grin formed on his face, "I'm sure this just might be worth while."
