VI: Planning Phase
Third POV
When Katsuki woke up the very next morning, it was thunder storming.
The sound of crashing thunder had woken him up, and yet, not early enough to see Izuku disappear.
His wedding ring was gone, and in its place was another rose.
No note.
Katsuki tried to shrug it off, sniffing the rose like routine before getting out of bed.
"So I'll have to ask my questions later tonight then, huh?" He whispered to himself, gently scratching at his skin, inhaling sharply at the remains of Izuku's scent.
He reached over to his night stand and grabbed his phone, first checking up on Kaminari who wanted to come over today only to see a rain check request from the other omega.
No problem.
Slipping out of bed, he went to go get ready, remembering that he needed to go grocery shopping anyways.
Showering and doing all other essentials he put on an isla navy top from kukhavera london, double breasted high waisted shorts and Aquazzura metallic leather platform sandals.
As he placed on simply stackable jewelry, he paused on his wedding ring.
He looked over to Izuku's nightstand, noting that the alpha's ring was gone, but Katsuki's mind was wrecked.
Izuku never took off his wedding ring of his person.
Not when showering, not when doing labor, even when exercising his wedding ring would be turned into a necklace.
It was odd.
He didn't even leave a note about when Katsuki's questions would be answered as well.
"Hmm..." Katsuki let rumble in his throat, pressing a kiss onto his own diamond ring.
Perhaps it was nothing.
Or perhaps it was something.
He patted his cheeks and looked at himself in the mirror.
He inspected his eyes, letting out a sigh when he reached over and placed on the gold rimmed square sunglasses.
Grabbing his bag, he said goodbye to Asui and took off to the grocery store.
He strolled somewhat focused and somewhat aimlessly in the store, as he gathered some ingredients and whatnot from the shelves.
Their anniversary was now 5 days away.
And even when they were just dating, Katsuki would always make a special dinner by himself.
Just a little way to show that he hadn't lost his touch in the kitchen.
What better way than to make a special variation of spicy Katsudon?
He felt his insides churn at the idea of sitting down and eating alone with Izuku, after all he still had ideas about telling the prime alpha about his plans about wanting a child.
And after having your belly full and reminded of all the times they've experienced both good and bad, surely it'd be worth consideration.
Just as Katsuki was about to reach for the tonkatsu sauce, he accidentally touched another.
"Well well well..."Sero's tone chimed excitedly, watching Katsuki roll his eyes and pull away from the bottle, letting his friend take it as he took the other one in the row, "I take it the tradition still carries?"
Katsuki tilted and subtly nodded his head, "It does, now what about you?"
Sero shrugged, "At the moment, I'm currently trying to open 'roki's horizons with anything other cold soba or hot udon."
He then wiggled his brows, "Care to share your recipe for katsudon then?"
Gently slapping Sero's arm, Katsuki scoffed, "There's a dozen online, I'm sure you'll find one."
"So shady..." Sero remarked, before he had finally taken a good look to the subtly of Katsuki's face, "...Did you ask yet?"
He watched Katsuki's face drop, before picking it back up to a smile, "I would've hinted at it yesterday, but Izuku came back a bit dodge-y..? He said he was tired and when I tried to ask question about a supposed meeting he was supposed to have he asked he could answer it today,"
"When I woke up though, he was gone."
Sero furrowed his brows, "That sounds bit unusual... I know he didn't say much but was there anything else? Any other context or clues..?"
Katsuki bit his inner cheek, "Well, I went to his office earlier that morning before to e meeting as he didn't come home because he fell asleep, and he said money issues but said it wasn't something for me to be worried about; what's more, when he did fall asleep last night his wedding ring wasn't on his finger."
He then sighed, looking down into his cart knowing they needed more green onions, "Maybe I'm just overthinking it. Anniversary nerves, yknow."
Sero tried to ease up the conversation, giving Katsuki his signature grin, "Of course, we all know Izuku is madly in love with you anyways and it might just be stress."
"Maybe he's just planning something big and is making excuses to keep you away from it."
Katsuki bobbed his head, putting on a hopeful look, "I hope tonight's dinner goes well, if it does I'll tell him then and there."
Sero reached forward, fist bumping Katsuki, "Then Kaminari and I will be awaiting your celebratory message in the group chat." As he adjusted his basket before giving Katsuki a wave, "Now I gotta go look for potatoes, Himalayan salt and rice..."
Katsuki waved back, letting out a sigh as he dropped his head.
He could feel a headache forming.
He then adjusted his posture and gave himself a meager smile.
Tonight was going to be perfect.

Izuku stared down at the framed photo of Katsuki.
The plan itself was simple enough; as he distracted Ochaco's family with the potential of the betrothal, meanwhile Todoroki and Kirishima would be working with some of his people behind the scenes to recollect what exactly was going on with her family and their business.
And yet, as he stared at Katsuki with the brightest and prettiest smile he'd ever seen on a person he could feel his insides lurch.
It would work out, Katsuki wouldn't need to know anything.
He slipped the ring off and placed it into the drawer along with the photo when he heard a knock on the door.
With a quick come in, in stepped Ochaco herself.
She casted an unreadable smirk with her gaze, watching Izuku smile as he stood up to take her hand.
They were headed to brunch now, so let the acting commence.
