When Kiba had seen her husband stabbed in front of her, she attempted to stop that boy herself, but in the end, she was brought to her knees and blinded. Then the police informed her that he was dead. Her daughter was unharmed for the most part, but after losing the love of her life and her very ability to see, she shut down. She could hear Ochako reassuring her and trying to comfort her, but she couldn't bring herself to even speak back. She couldn't function properly.
The face of that boy was burned into her mind, and her eyes slowly ripped from her skull being forced to watch as he ate them, but then came the whispers. After she arrived at the hospital, she would hear the occasional whisper in the distance, but she would chalk it up to mere delusion. At least she had her daughter there to keep her together in some way. Despite her inability to speak or even function properly, hearing her daughter's voice made her feel like she hadn't really lost everything. After some time, another boy's voice became apparent to her. It seems that Ochako had a new friend. That put her heart at ease, knowing that her daughter was able to keep some sense of normalcy. As a mother, it comforted her, knowing that her daughter wasn't without all hope.
She simply rested, and after some weeks, she finally could muster up the strength to speak. She first spoke to her daughter, who cried to her about the confusion and pain she was feeling. It shattered her heart to hear the pain in her voice, but she knew there was nothing she could do. Truthfully, she was numb to the reality of her husband's death. In her heart, she knew he was gone, but in her mind, she felt like she still heard his comforting words. His arms around her, holding her so close and making her feel so secure. She didn't want to accept that he was gone. No, she couldn't let that happen.
After Ochako had left to go spend time with her new friend, she began to think about that night. She was sleeping calmly in bed when suddenly a huge crash filled the house, and she rushed out with her husband to see what was happening, only to find someone in her home attacking her daughter. After that, it really was a blur, but she remembered that boy tossed her aside like she was nothing before suddenly her own eyes were ripped from her head. Her husband came to her aid only to be stabbed to death....God, why did this have to happen to them? What did her husband ever do to deserve such a cruel and unjust death? He only ever provided and loved his family unconditionally. He made mistakes in his youth, but he worked hard every single day to male sure his daughter and wife had comfortable lives. But now he was dead, and she was blind.
She felt tears begin to pour down her cheeks as she felt the heartache of losing her love and home. Everything she'd treasured was gone in one night. All she had left was her daughter. She cried and cried as the realization of her situation dawned upon her. However, as she cried, she began to hear a whisper in the distance.
"Don't cry, Kiba."
She jolted her head around as the voice was so very faint and so vaguely familiar. Like a mash of her husband, daughter, and someone else. They all merged together, yet instead of her feeling concerned or confused, she felt inclined to listen. "Please speak to me, my love.." She spoke quietly as she gently reached her hand out, trying to hold her husband's hand once again.
"Please, shed no tears for me."
Kiba desperately just reached out for him. She needed his comfort again. She reached out until, eventually, she collapsed right out of the bed. She groaned in pain as she heard the machines she had been connected to going haywire. She groaned and whimpered as she heard footsteps rushing over before grabbing someone's hand.
"You should relax, Kiba Uraraka," the voice of that boy suddenly emerged again. She screamed in pure terror as she began to kick and scream, seeing that face flashing in the darkness that was now her sight. Her body fought against the grasp of that boy, but every time she pushed away or fought back, she was grabbed once more.
