The bustling corridors of U.A. High School echoed with the energetic chatter of students. Among them, Shoji Mezo, your enigmatic boyfriend, navigated the crowd with his usual stoic demeanor. To the outside world, Shoji seemed reserved, and if one judged solely by his actions in public, it would be easy to assume that he wasn't one for displays of affection.
You had been dating Shoji for a while now, and you couldn't be happier. However, there was an interesting dynamic to your relationship. In front of your classmates, he kept a certain distance. It wasn't that he was cold or indifferent, but the public Shoji and the private Shoji seemed almost like two different people.
You often caught the curious glances of your friends as Shoji maintained a respectful but somewhat reserved demeanor in the common areas of the school. It was as if he had a public persona, one that adhered to a set of unspoken rules.
One day, as the final bell rang, signaling the end of classes, Shoji met you at your locker. His usual neutral expression softened at the sight of you, and he offered a small smile.
You shouldered your bag and made your way to the your locker, weaving through the bustling crowd of students. After the crowd dispersed, you make your way to Shoji.
"Hey," he said, his voice softer than usual, "How was your day?"
"Pretty good," you replied, glancing around to make sure no one was within earshot. "Yours?"
"Same old," he shrugged, but his eyes crinkled at the corners, a sign of a hidden smile. "You know, dealing with Mineta's antics and Aizawa-sensei's dry lectures."
You chuckled, enjoying this more relaxed side of Shoji that only surfaced away from prying eyes. "I think you're the only one who can handle Mineta's antics with such calm."
He grinned, a hint of mischief in his eyes. "Well, I do have extra arms to catch things."
As soon as the two of you stepped out of the school building, the transformation was remarkable. Shoji's hand found yours naturally, and he pulled you close. The reserved demeanor melted away, revealing a more affectionate side of him. It was as if the world outside the school walls allowed him to be more open.
The two of you walked side by side, fingers entwined. Shoji leaned down to whisper in your ear, "Missed you today."
You grinned, enjoying the private moment. "You saw me at lunch, Shoji."
He shrugged, his many arms moving gracefully. "Not the same. I like having you all to myself."
Your heart skipped a beat at his words. Shoji's affectionate side was something you cherished, and you understood that he preferred to keep that aspect of his personality away from prying eyes.
Shoji turned to you, his gaze tender. "I've been thinking about you all day."
You leaned in, pulling down his mask, and capturing his lips in a soft kiss. His response was immediate, a gentle but passionate embrace. It was a stark contrast to the composed exterior he presented at school.
"Finally, some quiet," he remarked, his voice gentle as he pulled his mask back up. His multiple arms adjusted the straps of his backpack as he turned his full attention to you.
You grinned, enjoying the shift in atmosphere. "You act like you're carrying the weight of the world out there. What's on your mind?"
Shoji sighed, a rare display of vulnerability. "It's just...I don't want people to think I'm neglecting my responsibilities as a hero. I have to maintain a certain image."
You reached out, placing a hand on one of his arms. "Shoji, you're incredible. Everyone knows that. But you don't have to carry the burden alone. We're a team, remember?"
A soft smile tugged at the corners of his lips. "Yeah, I know. Thanks for understanding."
The tranquility of the space mirrored the peace you found in each other's company. Shoji's multiple arms allowed him to create a makeshift bench, and you sat together, enjoying the serenity.
"Sometimes, I wish I could be as open in front of others as I am with you," Shoji admitted, his gaze fixed on the blooming flowers.
"You'll get there," you reassured him. "It's okay to be reserved. People appreciate the mystery, you know."
He chuckled, a sound that resonated like a melody. "Maybe. But I'm grateful for this space where I can just be myself."
In your shared room, the transition from the public to the private was even more pronounced. Shoji's reserved nature gave way to an intimacy that was reserved for your moments alone. He pulled you into a warm embrace, his multiple arms enveloping you in a cocoon of affection.
"You're my sanctuary," he murmured, his voice a gentle caress. "I don't have to be anything other than myself with you."
You tilted your head back, meeting his gaze. "And you're mine, Shoji. In the chaos of the world, you're my calm."
He leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. The room, with its simple furnishings and the soft glow of evening light, became a haven of peace. In these private moments, Shoji didn't have to adhere to any image or expectation. He could simply be the person he was, unfiltered and genuine.
"Switching sides," you mused, breaking the comfortable silence. "It's like you have a public persona and a private one."
Shoji nodded thoughtfully. "It's not intentional. I guess it's just how I've always been."
You traced circles on his palm with your thumb. "I like both sides of you, you know. The mysterious hero in school and the sweet, affectionate Shoji I get to see when we're alone."
His eyes softened, gratitude evident in his gaze. "I'm lucky to have you, you know that?"
You smiled, resting your head on his shoulder. "The feeling is mutual, Shoji."
The conversation drifted to lighter topics, the two of you sharing stories and laughter. Shoji's reserved demeanor melted away, replaced by a more animated version of himself. He even pulled out a snack from his bag, sharing it with you as you enjoyed the tranquility of the park.
As the sun dipped lower on the horizon, painting the sky in hues of pink and orange, Shoji turned to you. "I really like these moments," he confessed, his gaze fixed on the horizon.
"Me too," you replied, leaning into him. "It's like we get to see a different side of each other."
He chuckled, the sound deep and comforting. "Yeah, I guess I do let loose a bit more when it's just us."
As the evening unfolded, you and Shoji spent time doing the little things that brought joy. A shared dinner, a quiet conversation, and the comfort of each other's presence. The day had begun with a facade, a carefully constructed image that Shoji maintained in the public eye. But in the quiet of the evening, surrounded by the familiarity of your shared space, he let go of the facade.
"Thank you for being patient with me," he murmured.
"Always," you replied, your heart full.
You both settled into the night, Shoji's affectionate embrace offered a sense of belonging. The public and private worlds coexisted, each playing a role in the intricate dance of identity. In the heart of it all, Shoji Mezo, with his multiple arms and reserved demeanor, found solace in the love that transcended both realms.
