I never thought my world would crumble at the hands of a man like Alessandro Rossi-a 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 draped in silk suits and ruthlessness. One moment, I was Yasenia Fraga, daughter of the...

We reached Geoffrey and Margaret's house in what felt like minutes. As soon as the car stopped, Alessandro bolted out, not even waiting for me, and rushed up the front steps. Margaret met him at the door, her face pale and streaked with tears, dark circles under her eyes like she hadn't slept a wink. She looked like she could barely stand, and as soon as she reached Alessandro, she collapsed into his arms, trembling.
"Alessandro.." she choked, her voice breaking. "He's gone.. Geoffrey's gone!"
Alessandro tightened his hold on her, steadying her, but I could see the worry flash across his own face. "Margaret," he said, his voice gentle but urgent, "what do you mean he's gone? Where did he go?"
"He went out yesterday," she cried, clutching his arm as though her life depended on it. "He was supposed to pick up a gift for our grandson's birthday tonight, but he never came back. I called him over and over, but he isn't answering. Alessandro, I don't know what to do!"
Geoffrey, missing? Something about this just felt... wrong.
Alessandro glanced back at me, as if to say he needed my help. I stepped up, reaching out to Margaret, wrapping an arm around her shoulders and murmuring words of reassurance I doubted would comfort her. Alessandro had already pulled out his phone, dialing Geoffrey's number, though it was clear he wasn't getting an answer.
"Did you try calling Alice?" I asked, thinking maybe Geoffrey could've ended up at his daughter's place, even if that didn't explain his silence.
Margaret nodded shakily, tears streaming down her face. "I did," she whispered. "I asked her without alarming her, but she said he wasn't there. Yasenia... what if... what if something happened to him?" Her words faded into sobs, and I felt her grip tighten on my arm.
"Hey, hey, listen to me," I said, my voice as calm as I could make it, "we're not going to think the worst. We'll go through every possibility first. Alessandro will find him, I promise."
Alessandro lowered his phone. "I'll need to go through his contacts, see if he might've reached out to anyone, or if someone saw him yesterday." He turned to Margaret. "Did he mention any specific store or place he was going for the gift?"
Margaret shook her head, pressing a hand to her mouth as fresh tears welled up. "No, he didn't say. He only mentioned he'd be back before dinner.""
Alessandro gave a slow nod, rubbing her shoulder soothingly. "Alright. We'll track his phone and check the security cameras along the routes he'd take. But first, let's get you inside. I will start making calls and figure out where to go from here."
I led Margaret inside, her frail frame practically leaning into my side. Once she was settled on the couch, Alessandro moved off to the side, giving me that intense look that meant he needed to talk to me.
"I'll call in some people," he said under his breath, then nodded at Margaret. "Just stay with her for now."
I nodded, but couldn't stop myself from asking, "Where do you think he could be?" Though a part of me almost didn't want to hear the answer.
