"Don't worry it's all okay now..." Y/n comforted her mom as the two finally got back to their house after giving the police a statement.
"Yeah I hope. How about you go hang out with your boyfriend while I figure out what to do about the gallery?" Y/n's mom asked and Y/n nodded back, grabbing her small white purse that matched the soft green silk dress she wore.
"Alright. I'll be back in an hour okay? We're gonna take a walk and probably get ice cream." Y/n told her mom as she slipped back on her white sneakers and opened the door.
"Okay! Say hi to Vinnie for me, honey!" Y/n's mom yelled from the kitchen which was not too far away from the door.

"I swear strawberry and apple is such a good ice cream combination. It's not only pretty but also super delicious!" Y/n stated licking the cone that held two scoops, one pink and the other green.
"Nah. Nothing beats vanilla and blueberry. It tastes like a blueberry muffin but in an ice cream. The best of the best." Vinnie talked back, the boy holding onto a cone with two scoops of blue and white.
"Well then we agree to disagree." Y/n said and Vinnie nodded, agreeing with what she said.
Silence fell upon the two as they walked along the sidewalk of the not so busy streets of Los Angeles. The summer air felt rather humid but the cold breeze and the tasty ice cream kept the couple who's hands were clasped together refreshed.
Y/n looked out at the scenery before her. On the long field of deep green grass sat children. Canvases scattered around them with paint everywhere, either on the grass or on the piece. Rarely any of the children held brushes as most painted with their hands. Y/n stopped in her tracks, Vinnie turned around as he noticed his hand was being pulled back.
"What's wrong?" The boy asked looking down at her before following her gaze to the field and yet again back to her eyes. The boy could see the cheeky smile cross her face, immediately he knew she had another trick up her sleeve.
"I have an idea. A good one at that."

"Where do I put this?" Asked Doogie, barely holding onto the giant painting in his hands. It was slipping to the point he wasn't even holding it but rather dragging it across the grass.
"Right over there!" Y/n pointed to one of the pillars that held the paintings. They were all spread across the field with lights hanging off of trees above it. Y/n turned back around towards the table set up out in front of the whole space, setting up flyers, jars and other sorts of papers.
"Excuse me? Don't wanna bother but what are you guys up to?" Asked a man who was passing by, his girlfriend holding onto his arm and looking at the gorgeous set up behind Y/n.
"Don't worry you guys are not bothering at all! We're setting up for an open gallery tonight! Here's a flyer." Y/n handed them the colourful piece of paper and the two looked it over. "If you do decide to come you can bring your friends along!"
"Let's bring Johnny and Sarah! We could have a double date!" Said the woman as she tugged on the mans arm and he looked down at her with a smile.
"We should invite Liam and Anna too. Make it a triple date!" The two discussed who they wanted to invite along and Y/n patiently waited for them. Vinnie came up behind her by this point and hugged her.
"My ma will be here with the food soon." The boy whispered, his head on her shoulder and Y/n nodded lightly. "I'll help her set it up and then go put up a few more flyers okay?"
"I'll help you with that. She's over there go help here." Y/n pointed towards the car that Vinnie's mom drove as she just pulled up. The boy let go of Y/n, pressing a brief kiss to her cheek before walking away.
"You two are cute!" The woman whispered to Y/n while her boyfriend was on the phone with their friends, telling them about the event. Y/n giggled and smiled.
"You guys are cuter!" Y/n told the woman back and they both laughed before the woman's boyfriend got off the phone. The couple left, taking a few more flyers to give to their friends and other people they knew.

"Woah... It's beautiful." Y/n whispered, looking out at the open gallery. She stood with everybody who helped that day, Vinnie, Doogie, her mom, Doogie's parents and Vinnie's parents. They truly took everything they could and made the best of it.
"You're more beauitful." The boy next to her whispered into her ear and she just smiled pushing him back slightly and giving him a look as if warning him to not go any further with the compliments.
And so on the night began. People arrived and walked around, ate the delicious food while discussing the paintings. Y/n and her mom went around explaining all the meanings behind them as well, it was truly a spectacular night.
Hitting a spoon against her glass, Y/n drew the attention of the guests to her and her mom. The two proudly looked at each other before the people that came.
"Tonight wasn't supposed to go this way. This gallery was supposed to be held in a much more prestige building with a black tie dress code. But seeing how it turned out, I'm glad. Being here tonight with family in a much more cozy setting rather than some high class one really proved to me how you can truly find joy in your work. How you can be happy and have an amazing time without the need of expensive attire or surroundings. So thank you all. Thank you for coming, for supporting us and for sharing such a gorgeous night with us!" The crowd applauded the amazing speech while Y/n hugged her mom who was now crying from her daughters words. Yet Y/n herself knew, those tears were far from being sad ones.
