"WAIT, YOU know?" Hedge asked.
Maisie put her hands in her pockets, nodding, "Yeah. I remember." She subconsciously reached up to her side, where she had been stabbed.
"You remember dying?" Hedge asked.
Maisie nodded, "What happened during the battle? Did we win?"
The coach nodded, "Yeah, yeah, we won."
"I need to get back to camp," Maisie realized. "I need to tell them I'm alive."
"Well, you're in luck, kid. There's a team coming to pick those guys up," he pointed back at the kids that Maisie had been sitting with on the bus.
She wasn't that surprised they were demigods. Of course a demigod that was supposed to be dead would end up with three other demigods.
Masie nodded, "Okay, so I'll just blend in until they get here. Easy peasy."
As soon as she said it she knew she had jinxed it. After years of living life as a demigod she knew she should never say anything along the lines of 'This will be no problem' or you would just be giving the gods a chance to laugh in her face.
Maisie made her way back to the crowd, and ended up standing with Leo, Jason, and Piper.
"What did Coach Hedge want?" Piper asked.
Maisie shrugged, "Oh, nothing. It's, never mind."
Piper looked confused, and a little bit hurt, but half a second later a boy called her name, "Yo, Piper."
The boy shoved Jason and Maisie to the side, and knocked Leo to the ground. He had cut Superman style, a deep tan, and teeth so unnaturally white. He wore a Dallas Cowboys jersey, wester jeans and boots, and he smiled like every popular guy in teenage movies ever. And there was just something off about him that Maisie couldn't figure out.
"Don't talk to these bottom-feeders," he put an arm around Piper. "We're partner's remember."
"Go away, Dylan," Piper grumbled. "I didn't ask to work with you."
"Ah, that's no way to be. This is your lucky day!" Dylan hooked his arm through Piper's and dragged her through the museum entrance. Piper looked over shoulder, shooting Maisie a look that clearly meant 911.
Leo stood up brushing the dirt of himself. "God I hate that guy," he held out his arm to Jason like the two were about to go skipping off together. "I'm Dylan. I'm so cool, I want to date myself, but I can't figure out how! You want to date me instead? You're so lucky!"
"Leo," Jason said. "you're weird."
"Yeah, you tell me that a lot," Leo grinned. "But if you guys don't remember me, that means I can reuse all my old jokes. Come on!"
Maisie followed Leo and Jason into the museum, but she couldn't help the feeling that something was wrong. Like she was being watched. She looked around, but didn't see anyone. She was probably just being paranoid.
The group of kids made their way through the museum, stopping here and there for Coach Hedge to lecture them on his megaphone, which alternately made him sound like a Sith Lord or blared out comments like, "The dog says woof."
Leo kept pulling out nuts, bolts, and pipe cleaners from the pockets of his army jacket and putting them together, like he had to keep his hands busy at all times. It was most likely from the ADHD, which was one of the perks of being a demigod.
Maisie wasn't paying too much attention to the exhibits, seeing as she still remembered most of them from when she was a kid. Instead she was wondering where she had been for the past few months. She didn't remember anything, just dying, then waking up on that school bus. Did she go to the Underworld? Was she really going to school with Leo, Piper, and Jason and just didn't remember it? She had no idea.
