TO SAY that shocked Maisie would have been an understatement. Yes, she knew Jason was Thalia's half-brother, but the way he said it was they had the same mortal parent too. Thalia had never said anything about having any siblings.
Maisie was expecting Thalia to question Jason, but she didn't she rushed forward and hugged him, which was very unlike Thalia.
"My gods! She told me you were dead!" she gripped Jason's face and seemed to be examining everything about it. "Thank Artemis, it is you. That little scar on your lip - you tried to eat a stapler when you were two!"
Leo laughed, "Seriously?"
Hedge nodded like he approved of Jason's taste, "Staplers - excellent source of iron."
"W-wait," Jason stammered. "Who told you I was dead? What happened?"
At the entrance of the cave, one of the wolves barked. Thalia looked back at the wolf and nodded, but she kept her hands on Jason's face, like she was afraid he might vanish. "My wolf is telling me I don't have much time, and she's right. But we have to talk. Let's sit."
Piper did better than that. She collapsed. She would've cracked her head on the cave floor if Hedge hadn't caught her.
Thalia rushed over, "What's wrong with her? Ah - never mind. I see. Hypothermia. Ankle." She frowned at the satyr. "Don't you know nature healing?"
Hedge scoffed, "Why do you think she looks this good? Can't you smell the Gatorade?"
"You have a daughter of Apollo with you," Thalia jerked her head at Maisie. "Why didn't you help?"
"Thalia, it's me," Maisie said.
Thalia seemed to realize who Maisie was, "Maisie? But you're- I saw- You're...dead."
"Long story," Maisie said.
Thalia turned to Leo, "You and the satyr, take this girl to my friend at the entrance. Phoebe's an excellent healer."
"It's gold out there!" Hedge protested. "I'll freeze my horns off."
"Come on, Hedge," Leo said. "These two need time to talk."
"Hump. Fine," the satyr muttered. "Didn't even get to brain anybody."
Hedge carried Piper toward the entrance. Leo was about to follow when Jason called, "Actually, man, could you, um, stick around?"
Leo grinned, "Sticking around is my specialty."
Thalia didn't look too happy about it, but the three of them sat around the fire. For a few minutes, nobody spoke. In that time, Maisie tried her best to stay awake, but fell asleep before anyone started talking.

"Hey, we're gonna get going," Jason shook Maisie awake.
"What?" she asked rubbing her eyes.
"Thalia said she'd take up up to Aeolus' palace," Leo explained.
"Oh," she sat up, grabbing her backpack.
She went to stand up, and winced in pain. Thalia grabbed her arm to steady her.
"Maybe you should stay here with Phoebe," she suggested.
"No, I'm fine," Maisie assured her. "I'll have some ambrosia and I'll be good as new."
"Really, because you looked better when you were dead."
"Thanks, Thalia," Maisie deadpanned. "You're making me feel so great about myself."
Maisie took a square of ambrosia, then the group of them went outside.
