Chapter 9

Party Time

After yesterday's shows, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Nicki and Alicia squads had won the favor of the dance off but the press was mainly about Normani. Gabriella is showing her a picture of Normani nibbling on her chocolate which caused her to stop doing so.

"They take pictures?" Normani questioned in confusion, she never recalled anyone taking a picture since she got on and off the stage.

"Yes, oh goodness, have you not done your research?" Gabriella shakes her head.

"Not really." Normani answered truthfully which made Gabriella giggle.

"Enough about last night, what are we going to wear?!?" Montero exaggerated.

"I'm going with something simple." Gabriella answered him.

"Same." Solána assured.

"Fine, I'll see y'all at 8. Please stick to the theme of simple!" Montero left the cafeteria and Normani furrowed her eyebrows.

She had honestly forgot about the whole party. Gabriella and Montero had begged her to go by bribing her with candy and you seen how that went. She don't even remember when she even became obsessed with the treats but she's not complaining because her sweet tooth is celebrating every bite. Making her way to her room, she ends up bumping into Kehlani.

"Hey hey Manibear." Kehlani spoke like a Californian and Normani only thought of one person.

"Dinah." She thought out loud and Kehlani rose an eyebrow.

"No I'm not your girlfriend." Kehlani teased with a roll of her eyes.

"You got that nickname from Dinah, idiot." Normani grumbled at the teasing.

The last thing she would ever want to be is Dinah's girlfriend. Dating was never a factor in her mind either, and she planned to keep it that way for a while.

"Oh yeah, anyways, off to the party?" Kehlani wiggled her eyebrows and Normani shakes her head.

"To change." She replied and Kehlani took notice that she was in her uniform.

It was covered by a gigantic hoodie that covered nearly her thighs.

"Oh right, I could walk you there if you want. I'm already dressed so." Kehlani gestured.

Normani didn't really know exactly where the party was so she opted on saying yes.

"Okay." Normani started to walk away to her room to get changed into something casual.

Kehlani trailed her and when they got to her room, she waited outside while Normani changed. It took about another 30 minutes before the door had swung open to reveal the smaller girl in an all white attire.

"You look stunning." Kehlani compliments then stood up.

"Thanks, lead the way." Normani ushered and Kehlani nodded.

They didn't make much conversation, but the quiet was pleasant. The stroll to the twin's party felt blissful when they reached outside and stepped for onto the sand path. Normani immediately knew where it was and smiled because she enjoyed the beach, she spent most of her days there since it was so relaxing to her. When they finally reached the party, Gabriella was quick to sweep Normani away from Kehlani and towards the group who had unknowingly dressed in similar attires.
