The Backup

Chapter 42

"Wow mom you look like a doctor." Delano points out to Dinah and Dinah placed her hands on her hips.

"I will be helping deliver your baby sister." Dinah tells him and Delano face lit up.

"What would her name be?" He questioned and Dinah shrugged.

"Up to your mother, I'm back at names." She laughs and so does her son.

"She's ready to give birth." A doctor announces.

"Already? That was quick." Ryan spoke.

"The girls are usually easier to give birth to it seems. Naomi was a breeze." Dinah mentions before pulling up the mask and going into the room. It was about 5 more minutes before she exits the room without the doctor outfit and with a bright smile. "Like I said, a breeze." She wiped the sweat from her forehead and Naomi giggles.

"It looks like you're about to pass out." The young girl noted and Dinah sighs.

"You think after three kids I'll be used to it, at least I didn't throw up this time." Dinah rubbed her stomach.

"When can we see her?" Delano asked eagerly.

"In a minute, they have to do check ups and clean her." Dinah informed.

"Okay she's all good." A nurse tells the group and they nods.

"What a quick labor." Chloe stood up, holding Jyro.

"I'm telling you, having a daughter is the way to go." Dinah laughs.

"I know I have one." Ryan also laughs.

"We have to wait 30 or so minutes for them to get the placenta out so let's go get my baby and babies some food." Dinah ushered.

"You just reminded me that I am hungry." Naomi nodded then skipped to the front lobby with Dinah following close behind.

When they returned, they made their way to the hospital room. Dinah knocked then opened the door to see Normani awake and drinking water.

"Come on." Dinah gestures for the group to enter and Normani flashed them a smile. "How are you feeling?" She asked her wife, pecking her head then taking off her shirt.

"Why are you stripping?" Delano furrowed his eyebrows.

"It's because it'll help build the baby's immune system if they have skin to skin contact with their parent." Naomi answered for her parents.

"Magic." Delano muttered making Dinah shake her head.

"Here she is." A nurse came into the room with their newborn and she handed the baby girl to Normani while Dinah situated herself on the bed.

"Wow, where do my genes actually go?" Normani frowned and Dinah giggled then pecked Normani's pouty lips.

"We are here!" Rihanna announces, bursting through the doors of the room making half the room jump.

"Someone overslept." Beyoncé nodded and Rihanna an eyebrow.

"You mean you?" She crossed her arms.

"Hey! Them kids stress me out." Beyoncé put up her hands and the couple shook their heads.

"Well, meet Kory Charlotte Hamilton-Hansen." Normani ushered and Dinah nodded in agreement.

"Nice." She took the newborn in her hands as Normani rested her head on Dinah's shoulders.

"Is this the last one?" Rihanna cooed at the newborn.

"Who knows, I wanted to stop after Jyro." Normani yawned.

"Don't tell Kory that when she gets older." Dinah tells her kids and they covered their mouths.

"Lips sealed." Naomi nodded and Normani giggled.

"Oh here's your food." Halle handed the fast food over and Normani sat up happily.

"Oh yessss." She accepted the food and began to eat the fries.

"Mommy she looks like me." Delano face glowed.

"I wonder why." Normani muttered with a face full of fries.

"Here Rihanna, put her in the crib." Dinah ushered and Rihanna sanitized her hands while take off her jacket then grabbed the newborn carefully.

Dinah turned to Normani who was now stuffing her face in a burger making her laugh. Pecking Normani on her head, she lifted Naomi and Delano onto the bed while Ryan handed Dinah Jyro.

"I'm starting to understand the theme of you naming us." Naomi says.

"I have no idea what you mean." Normani played dumb.

"Don't gaslight me mommy, that's bad." Naomi wagged her finger.

"Where did you even learn this vocabulary?" Dinah chuckled.

"I have aunts and uncles." Naomi flipped her hair making Normani eyes widen and look at Dinah who sighed.

"I hope Kory won't be like this." She muttered but Naomi heard her.

"Hey!" The young girl crossed her arms with a pout while Normani giggled and Dinah smiled while looking elsewhere.

After about another hour, everyone but the small, well large now family left. They decided to watch a movie so Dinah left to retrieve a laptop from home while Jyro and Normani slept, Naomi and Delano spoke to their new siblings.

"You should be like your big brother, protective and strong." Delano whispered.

"No be like your big sister, smart, beautiful and caring." Naomi whispered as well.

"She's lying, she looks like a roach." Delano snicked silently.

"Well you look like a sloth." Naomi says just as silently, crossing her arms.

"Stop calling each other names." Normani scolded and they turned around then looked at each other in confusion.

They weren't loud nor was Normani even looking at them.

"Witch." They say in sync and nodded.

10 minutes later, Dinah returns and picked up the two eldest and set them back onto the bed. She set up the laptop while handing everyone something to snack on. They watched two movies until everyone eventually awoken. They woke up to Jyro crying which made Kory ultimately cry making them all groan.

"See cry baby." Delano covered his ears while Dinah shook her head. She grabbed Jyro and took him out the room while Naomi tried to get Kory to stop. After another minute, she succeeded and Delano turned to look at Normani who was still sleeping. "Wow, she can sleep through anything." Delano nodded impressed

"After four kids, she's used to it." Naomi sighed and sat down on the couch then widened her eyes. "Mommy I need to pee!" She screeched.

"Naomi." Delano scolded.

"What I gotta go!" She paced around the room and Normani pointed to the bathroom which she rushed to.

"I tried to stop her." Delano shook his head and Normani only laughs, tackling him into a cuddle and pecked his face many times causing him to go into fits of giggles.
