Naomi and you were walking back from a busy day at the market. You both run a booth and sell anything you grow in your shared garden. Every day you both get up early and tend to the garden as well as the few free chickens running around. They don't provide any eggs and don't belong to anyone, but you have gotten used to them being around and as long as you give them food, they stay away from the crops.

"Do you think we have enough to pay for the house this month?" Naomi kept walking looking lost in thought.
"I hope so. It's getting colder so soon we won't have much to sell at the market. Winters are always rough." You nodded your head and stayed in step with her. Up ahead you could hear giggling and talking. As you approached you seen a crowd forming around a wall.

"What has gotten into everyone? Did something happen?" You shrugged your shoulders as you both made your way to the crowd.
"Mrs. Chang? What's going on?" A small elderly woman turned around with a smile on her face.
"Oh! Y/N dear, the King is holding a royal ball next month."
"A royal ball? Then why are the villagers all in a flurry? Royal balls aren't for common folk." You could practically see the question mark above Naomis head as she tried to look over the crowd towards the flyer on the brick wall.
"Not this one. Prince Yoongi is looking for a bride. The flyer states that all eligible maidens of all statuses are to attend the ball and one lucky girl will be chosen to be the next queen." You turned towards the flyer with a straight face before chuckling.

"As if a prince would choose a girl from the village. I'm sure he'll chose one of the princesses from a neighboring kingdom. No reason for anyone to get their hopes up." Naomi nudged you with her shoulder glaring at you.
"Yes, well that might be true. But that doesn't mean you can't go enjoy a royal ball at their expense now does it girls?" Mrs. Chang winked and left you both standing there.

"Y/N. She has a good point. This is probably the only time we would have the opportunity to attend a royal anything let alone a lavish ball! We have to go!" You shook hour head and turned away from the crowd heading home.
