unedited: started this late last night, so i will go back and fix issues later tonight. This chapter is pretty long too so I hope you enjoy!
His scent hit her like a ton of bricks when Mahogany stepped onto the front porch, Orion a step behind her. When she paused after taking a step inside, he stopped too, right behind her. Orion's body heat was seeping into her. He wasn't touching her, but was just short of doing so by a couple of inches at most.
Everything smelled of him, but Mo caught her scent as well, just not as strong as Orion's since she hadn't been there in a while. Everything looked the same. He hadn't even moved the furniture. The couch that she laid on the first night here was facing the entrance to the living room. The cream colored blanket that she'd pull over her if she got cold was resting along the back of that couch. The lamp on the table that was on the right side of the couch was turned on, illuminating the living room with a warm yellow light.
She remembered waking up on that same couch some time after she had taken his sleep. She'd been dreaming of him doing sinful things to her body that night, and before she'd even fully woken up, his name fell from her lips in a begging tone. Orion had been sitting on the loveseat that was across from the couch, watching her with a sexy smirk on his lips, and hooded eyes focused only on her. She could remember it like it was yesterday. The way he had been relaxed into the couch, legs spread, palming his erection as she watched with a slack jaw. He'd demanded his sleep be given back to her moments before, and when she refused, he'd thought he'd seduce her into giving it back. He'd looked so sexy sitting like that, and he dominated the whole room. She remembered the room feeling ten times smaller than it actually was because of the way his presence filled it.
Mo had touched herself on that couch with his heavy gaze on her, and now , he was standing right behind her. All he had to do was reach around and-
Orion cleared his throat, pulling Mo out of her lustful thoughts. She shook her head, trying to physically clear her mind. Unclenching her thighs, Mo swallowed thickly, trying not to think of the need that had awoken within her for the man standing just behind her, she hated the way her stomach dipped. Could she not just be in the his vicinity without feeling like she wanted him to bend her over the nearest piece of furniture?
No, her wolf answered her. She was speaking to Mo like she was an idiot, He's our mate. That is what we want. Then, he can teach us, and we can shift, and we can have his wolf too.
Oh shut up, Mo grumbled, You just got here.
To put some distance between the two, she took a step forward, but being back in this house left her with an overwhelmed feeling. She didn't know where she should go next.
"Are you hungry?"
Mo whipped around, and realized how hollow her stomach actually was. Orion answered for her, "Yeah you are."
Should she tell him about wanting to feed now, too? Mahogany decided not to in that moment.
"Come on," Orion murmured heading to the kitchen, "Mariah brought over some food for us earlier today. She sends her best. You already have some food in your fridge that she made for you to have for your first few days."
"That was nice of her," Mo murmured.
"Said she didn't want you to have to worry about it when you first got here and got used to being part of a pack."
His voice lowered when he said that part. An awkward silence formed. They were both remembering what Orion had said to her about how his pack would hate her. And now here she was, about to become a part of that pack.
