It was strange.
Orion was strange.
But she already knew that.
Not even a day ago he'd wanted to kill her, and yet, Mahogany sat in the passenger seat of a car that couldn't belong to him because it didn't hold enough of his scent to. There was the faint smell of another wolf. She didn't linger on that idea for long. There were probably tons of reasons why the wolf didn't take his own car, but that was beside the point.
He'd had pliers and a bag to put her fangs in if she had them on that table in the hotel, yet, when he climbed out the car after they shared a look of knowing like they actually knew each other, Orion had muttered, "Wait here,"
Now, Mahogany was sitting in her seat, watching Orion-her newly found mate- round this car she was sitting in, and go to her side. When he opened the door for her, she just looked up at him in confusion- just like she had when he'd opened it for her to get in at the hotel. Orion stood there in silence, patiently waiting for her to get out.
Dumbfounded, Mahogany just sat there, staring up at him.
Only seconds had passed, but they seemed to drag on, and Orion quickly became impatient, "Come on, then. Can you hear her?"
He was talking about her Nee Nee-her aunt- who had heard the car pull up, and was coming up from the back of the house to see who it was. She was more than likely expecting it to be her niece, seeing as Mahogany had left her a note last night before she left with Orion telling her that she'd be back.
"Yeah, I hear her," She murmured, voice far away as she finally unbuckled her seatbelt.
When she stood up, and exited the car, it was the breeze on her legs that had reminded her that she had left the house in an old t-shirt that she had stolen from her cousin Uly. Uly was two and a half years older than Mahogany, and was practically her big brother, just like her aunt had been her second mother.
Uly wasn't home. He'd went out of town to go visit and train with his father, and Mahogany knew that when he came home, she was going to have to see him, or the other way around. She was going to call him on the way back to Orion's territory, because she couldn't just leave without saying anything. He was too protective to let that happen, and Orion was going to learn quickly that Ulysses was going to be a common visitor on his pack ground.
The fact that she didn't have shoes on didn't bother her. She rarely wore them; Mahogany hated both socks and shoes, and tried to wear them as little as possible. After exiting the car, Mahogany paused a few steps away, waiting as Orion closed the door, then made his way to her.
As a whole, the pair looked a mess. Well, in theory they did. Orion had on a clean, plain, black shirt, and it was paired with a pair of old, worn jeans and some beat up canvas shoes, but he still looked good, and he sure as hell looked better than her. He actually had on shoes. Orion looked like he knew he was going to be working out in the yard that day or something. He hadn't shaved in a while, so he had a full beard and mustache, which was the opposite of what she'd seen in the visions, and even so, the way the facial hair framed his mouth had her eyes wandering back to his rose colored lips many times. Both of his lips were plump, but the upper one was slightly more so, and even with the mustache, Mahogany could make out his deep cupid's bow.
In the visions, Orion had a five o'clock shadow at most, but either way he looked good. His hair was dark brown, almost black, and his skin was a rich, tawny color, like the shade of hay in the sun, and Mahogany knew it was because he was outdoors a lot.
