If there was one thing Mahogany was good at, it was holding grudges. She didn't like to hold onto things, but sometimes she just couldn't help it; and that was exactly how she felt in that moment.
She'd never been called a monster before. A demon, yes, but never a monster. Add in the fact that Orion- the real monster- the one who had literally killed his own family was the one calling her that, and any cordial feelings she had for the wolf evaporated like a boiling pot that was full of water but had no cover.
Her feelings were hurt, honestly. Her own mate still wanted to kill her and seemed to have no problems with the thought.
And he had called her a fucking monster when all of the problems that they had rooted from him. She had been waiting for him to come to her when the moon gave him those visions. She didn't want to hurt him, but that was all that Orion had wanted to do from the beginning. No, screw hurting her, he wanted to kill her.
And the moon rewarded him by gracing him with her touch? Mahogany didn't even want to look at him. Yet, there she was, in the entertainment room downstairs with Adriel and Gian watching some action movie that she didn't give two shits about, when Orion Lachlan waltzed into the room, sucking out all the air as he did so, and then he planted himself on the loveseat right next to her. Right next to her was entirely too close.
He bumped knees with her. Like they were friends or something.
Like they got along or something.
Like they were on good terms or something.
When Mo didn't respond to him in any sort of way, he scooted closer. She sent him a withering look before scooting away from him.
Orion smiled back at her.
God, he was such a beautiful creature. Her mouth was watering for him. For him physically, and for his blood. Still.
He followed her again until she was squished between the couch and the man who refused to take a hint that she wanted nothing to do with him.
Finding the couple in the room more interesting than whatever movie it was that they were watching, Gian paused the movie. Adriel had an intrigued look on his face.
"Chaos, look," Orion spoke as he rested his hand on her thigh and squeezed, "Look at my wrist. It's not bleeding anymore. Chaos. Chaos. Chaos, look, god damn it!"
Gian chuckled as Mo stared blankly at the paused screen of the TV, "Uh, I don't think she's feeling you right now, boss."
A scoff fell from Mahogany's mouth before she could stop it, and the temperature within the room dropped when Orion spoke in response to what Gian had said, "Leave. Now."
"You better fucking not leave this room." Mo countered immediately.
Gian and Adriel, who were now standing up, sat back down in that same second with looks of pure confusion on their faces.
"The fuck is wrong with you?" Orion's voice was low, but obviously Gian and Adriel still heard him.
Mahogany still hadn't looked at Orion.
Adriel was watching her. She watched him take in how her fists were clenched, and so was her jaw. She had never wanted to hit somebody so badly in her life, and that was out of character for her. Orion obviously had no problem attacking her, and Mo had no problem fucking with him using her magick, but to downright want to punch him in his face was something new for her. She almost needed to. Her entire body was closed off. She'd turned her completely away from her mate. There was a look of pity in Adriel's eyes, and that brought on the sadness. Her eyes started to burn, and in that second, Mahogany got the overwhelming urge to call Uly.
