As we all gathered around the field awaiting the midnight for the full moon to clear out from the clouds. There was silence and all you could hear were the crickets. The clouds finally cleared out and the moon light glistened upon us. The pack witch stood close to the fire as she started chanting.
A wave of powerful energy hit my body. It was the most painful thing I've experienced, I fell on the ground screaming as the it got even more painful. The energy serged through my body. This usually takes about 5 minutes but it felt like hours. My body was exhausted and I couldn't help but cry. My only focus was getting through this.
By now most of the pack members have completed this ceremony, they just sit in the sidelines and wait. Hearing the screams of the kids shifting for the first time, you could not sit and watch while they shift as we all went through that pain. Depending on how strong your body is, some people it doesn't take time to shift but it was still a very painful process.
I was laying on the grass unable to move because of how exhausted I was. My body shivered as I heard bones cracking and loud screams, trying to focus on me getting better because of the experience I myself just went through. I sit up as I turn see a kid who had fully shifted into a small brown wolf passed out on the grass.
After an hour the ceremony was over and the pups were moved to get proper rest and healing. I couldn't stop smelling this sweet aroma for the past 30 minutes. I thought I was just hungry. I could feel my wolf strengthen but she was still quiet. I walk to the table filled with food and I see Addilynn filling her plate with food. I was about to call her when that smell started getting stronger.
I sniff the air, as I followed the strong musculine scent that smelled musky with a mixture of rain that was pouring hard on the road and woody with a hint of a minty smell. It felt like walking through the forest raining pouring so hard as my clothes clung on my body as I shiver with coldness, my body wet yet so warm and sweet. It was so addicting I couldn't stop myself.
"Ally, are you okay?"
"Do you smell that?"
"Smell what? I can only smell the food that's on my plate." Addilynn snorted.
"No, it's like a strong smell of rain." I tell her as I walked past her. As I got closer I feel my wolf awaken in me.
Mate. My wolf spoke with excitement. I look up to see none other than the Alpha. I start hyperventilating as this could be a mistake. Suddenly it becomes quiet as I felt eyes on us. He had cold expression on his face, as he stared down at me. My body frozen on the spot as I couldn't move.
I take two step back and make a run for it. I don't know where I was running off too but anywhere was better. I don't why I was running away but the fear took over. It felt like my life was over. Although my wolf didn't feel the same way I did. I had no idea what I wanted to do. I was scared, I was really afraid. I shift into my wolf and ran into the woods.
"Turn back." My wolf demanded.
"No."
I kept on running forward not looking back. Suddenly a large silver wolf stood in front of me making me stop in my track. It shifted and there stood the Alpha with a furious look on his face.
"Shift." He demanded and I had to obey no questions asked. I stood trembling on the spot looking down afraid to face his wreath.
"Why did you run, mate?" He questioned.
"I...I...I Uhm..."
"Look up when you speak to me." I look up facing him with a nervous smile.
"I don't know why I ran away." I say putting my hands behind my back as I fiddled with my finger. I let out a sigh and decide to just tell him the truth.
"To tell you the truth, I didn't expect to find my mate, out of all were wolves an alpha is my mate."
"So you decide to run away avoiding me because I'm the Alpha."
"Yes, exactly." He pinches the bridge of his nose as if he is doesn't understand what I just told him.
"Come let's go back." He said as he starts walking away.
"No, that's not happening." I look away from him, thinking who the hell this guy think he is. Right he is the alpha.
"You don't want to make me angry, you've already done enough by running away."
"I don't want to go back." I slightly raise my voice frustrated at this situation. He's face start turning red with anger as he looked shocked by decision.
"I wasn't asking," He spoke gritting his teeth.
"Let's face reality, Alpha Sirius. I'm not suited to be Luna, I don't want to be Luna. I'm not cut out to be leader. Since you are to be betrothed to Cecelia. Let me just make it easy for you, for us. I Allison Dalton reject you Alpha Sirius Harlem as-" He covered my mouth before I could even finish my sentence.
"You think after all this time I'd actually just let you get away. You must think I'm crazy." He said as he held me on the waist and threw me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. I start squirming from his tight grip trying to get off him.
"LET ME GO," I shout as I hit his harden chest.
After sometime of walking I gave up and just kept quiet. As we reached the rest of the pack, they stared at us, making me blush by the embarrassing sight. I look up to see pack members wondering what's going on, I see Cecelia who had an angry expression on her face and I immediately look away from her. Alpha Sirius walks past everyone and straight to the main pack house.
