The Tragoedia (Tragedy/Death of a lover) is probably the longest act of the lay.

Act VI: The Death of Silmirnil

The sons of men spread far and wide
They paid the Dovs tenfold their woes
Silmirnil's temple was besieged
Her charges marked among their foes

The tidings grim reached Alduin
And to the threat did he pay heed
This battle here meant little now
That his own lover was in need

At last Alduin's heart knew fear
The truest terror gripped his soul
He raced the skies to aid his mate
His deafness doomed to take its toll

But even he could not prevent
That which already had been done
He saw priest Kunah kneel beside
The body of the Shining One

The temple burned, its servants slain
Their crimson blood upon the snow
The siege-men had been driven back
But Silmirnil had they laid low

The firstborn of the dragons stooped
To meet the white one's closing eyes
In one last breath she begged her mate
To heed the mortals' angry cries

With weak'ning words and tearful eyes
She prayed him end the senseless war
To let Nirn's children all live free
Blood had spilled, there need not be more

Thus with her last petition spake
And as her final tears were cried
Then Silmirnil the Shining One
Beside her priests and servants died

He called her name, and begged her not
To leave him in the world alone
Her oath to him, he cites aloud
No sign of life again is shown
