Hiccup is currently in the blacksmith stall as he laid his head on a desk full of Toothless drawings and rolled his charcoal stick. Hiccup heard noises from the doorway and looked up to find Stoick, as he jumps and quickly cover's his desk.
"Dad! You're back!" Hiccup said, as he cover's the drawings. "Uh, Gobber's not here, so..."
"I know." Stoick said, as he squeeze his way through the door. "I came looking for you and your sister."
"You did?" Hiccup asks, confused, as he close his notepad.
"You've both been keeping secrets."
"We, uh, we have?" He said, trying look casual.
"Just how long did you both think you can hide it from me?" Stoick asks seriously.
"I-I-I don't know, what you're..." Hiccup said, looking away from the chief's eyes.
"Nothing happens on this island without me hearing about it."
"Oh?"
"So, let's talk about that dragon."
"Oh gods, Dad, I'm so sorry, we...we...we were going to tell you, we just...didn't know how to, uh..." Hiccup said, but got confused when Stoick started laughing.
Stoick continues to laugh, as Hiccup laughs nervously.
"You're not upset?" He asks.
"Ah, what?! I was hoping for this!" Stoick said, smiling.
"Ah, you were?" He asks, confused.
"And believe me, it only gets better! Just wait till you spill a Nadder's guts for the first time, and mount your first Gronckle head on a spear, what a feeling!" Stoick said, as he smacks Hiccup on the shoulder, sending him into the wall. "You really had me going there son! All those years of the worst Viking Berk has ever seen! Odin, it was rough, I almost gave up on you! And all the while, you and your sister were both holding out on me! Oh, Thor, almighty!"
Stoick then grab's a stool to sit.
"Oh, with you both doing so well in the ring." He said, as he sat down with excitement. "We finally have something to talk about."
Hiccup avert his eyes before looking at him again, as he tries to talk but couldn't. Meanwhile Stoick adjusts his sitting position as the room got quiet, but luckily, Valerie walk in with her notepad.
"Hey Hiccup, can I-" She started, but got startled, seeing Stoick. "Dad?! You're back!"
"Ah, Valerie, I was just talking with your brother about both of your success in dragon training!" Stoick said, as Valeries eyes widen before she laughs nervously.
"Uh...yeah..." She said.
"Oh, I, uh, I brought you something." He said, pulling a horned helmet, as he adjust the horns. "To keep you safe...in the ring."
He handed the helmet to Hiccup, as he look at it.
"Wow...thanks." Hiccup said, as he look at it amazed.
"Ah, your mother would have wanted you to have it." Stoick said, as Hiccup ran his hand over the helmet. "It's half of her breast plate."
Hiccup and Valerie's eyes widen, as Hiccup pull his hand back. While Valerie chuckles awkwardly a bit.
"Matching set." Stoick said, tapping on his own helmet. "Keep's her...keep's her close, y'know?"
Hiccup eyes the helmets, jaw dropped while Valerie look away, before looking at Stoick multiple times.
