Part 1- Morning routine

Another day, another torture.

It was 5 in the morning, and the sun hasn't even rose yet. Which I guess I kinda enjoyed.

I ran my hands through the smooth material of my sleeping mask and places on my bedside table.

I desperately wanted to yell: "RISE AND SHINE B (word)"

But I couldn't, for I knew I'd get into trouble by GL.

All my roommates were still asleep. Except for Screech.

Screech always wakes up early to annoy us. Always something like:

"PsSt"

Like, can you leave us alone for once?

"What's up Ambush?"

"Hi Screech," I said wearily. "Why don't you go bother that little crush of yours.."

"Shut up. Anyways, why you so tired? Why aren't you so energetic? You went to sleep at 2 am, didn't you?"

"Shut up. Easy for you to say." I argued back.

"That's enough you two. And I'm trying to sleep"

I turned around. It was my brother, Dupe.

"Well, you're supposed to be up by now anyways.." I uttered, not really looking at him. As I hopped out of bed, I saw Rush still sleeping on the bunk above me.

"WAKE UP IDIOT!" I exclaimed. Screech made a face that said "you-and-him-would-be-so-cute-together."

"W...what was that f..for?" Rush said wearily.

"Your gir-" Screech joked

" It's 5:37, you airhead. You were supposed to wake up 7 minutes ago!"

"I'm tired okay? I went to sleep at 2 am. Besides, you did the same thing."

"I woke up earlier than you."

Screech barged in. "If you lovebirds are done, we have to get ready."

I rolled my eyes. "Actually, I li-"

GL barged into our room. "I trust you all had a good night rest?"

This is one thing I didn't like about GL. She would always come in our dorms without knocking. And that's another thing. Every second, she would be in our dorms, seeing what we were doing. Maybe I exaggerated on the 'every second' part. But you know my point.

"You need to go to the kitchen in 10 minutes. You then all need to-"

"Do our duties and jobs. Right we get it." Dupe interrupted.

GL nodded. "So get ready and hurry up!"

I sighed. I went to the bathroom to get dressed, and to brush my teeth. I threw on a green shirt, black leggings and a coat. It was cold in Maine. I shivered. I could feel my teeth chattering. My clothes weren't enough for the day.

I looked out the window. The clouds were covering the sky, making it look miserable and gloomy.

After what seemed like forever, I got ready and went to breakfast with Rush and Eyes.

GL was waiting for us. She told Rush and Eyes to sit down, while I stayed with her at the entrance to the cafeteria.

"Ambush..."

I knew what would come next.

"You need to eat more. You're very skinny, and it will do you no good in Winter. I don't want you getting a cold. It will give our enemies an advantage, considering the fact you're one of the more dangerous entities in this hotel."

I sighed. She always complained about my appearance, my weight, and how I was "too skinny" according to her.

I didn't see a problem. My bones don't show through my skin, and I don't ever feel cold. I guess it's just from her experience.

I just nodded and agreed. It was no use arguing with GL.

----------------------

I pulled out a chair and sat with my friends- Eyes, my crush. We met when I was trying to kill someone, and I bumped into her. We kinda chatted and became good friends. But sooner or later, I had to confess. Secrets don't last forever.

Then there was annoying Screech. I of course don't hate her, but I do find her annoying. But we can all act like a nuisance, right?

Then there was my friend. Rush. We only became friends recently, but have gotten quite close. Screech ships us, even I though like Eyes.

There's Halt- the therapist- kind of. He has to help himself and us when WE get involved in drama. I'm pretty sure he likes Eyes. He's really nice, but sometimes very...um...how do I say this...just..weird.

Finally, my brother Dupe. He's nice, but sometimes very...um..nosy and...annoying. But aren't all siblings? Once, he looked in my diary. Thankfully he couldn't see what I wrote. Oh, and I forgot to mention, he has a TOTAL crush on Screech. I think. He's been showing many signs.

I went up to the counter and grabbed a cup of coffee, a fruit salad and some toast. Personally, I would have much rather had a cup of hot chocolate. Or perhaps tea. I wasn't very hungry, but I had to try to avoid getting GL complaining about my appearance. At least my friends don't rant about it. All we really do is gossip about random drama and play truth or dare.

-----------------------------------------------

Half an hour had passed, and I couldn't finish my breakfast.

"You okay, A?" (Eyes called my A as a nickname. I call her E sometimes." Eyes asked. She seemed concerned. There was really nothing to worry about. I just simply wasn't hungry. Maybe it was the upsetting weather that made me lose my appetite.

"I'm fine, just not hungry.." I replied. I tried to smile, but I dreaded having to work during this weather. Especially having to run through the courtyard. The outdoors. I hoped GL would change her mind and close the hotel. Of course, that was a 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance.

"I'm going back to my dorm, I'm sure GL will call us when it's time." Screech announced.

"I guess we should all do the same," Rush replied. "You coming, A?"

"Sure, okay." I replied. I walked with them to our dorm. We all were in the same dorm (except for Eyes) so that was quite convenient, I guess.

----------------------

Back in our dorm, we all changed to our entity forms. We still had time before we started working, so we decided to chat. Except for Dupe and Screech, who went to sleep again. It was just me and Rush, which felt kinda awkward.

"So...how are your kills going?" Rush asked.

"Pretty good, I guess," I muttered. "I got 4 kills yesterday. Have a total of 12 so far this week."

"That's better than me, I got 2 last week". Rush replied. I kinda laughed at it. So did he.

"Do you think we're ever going to get another break?" Rush questioned.

Before I could answer, GL barged in (yet again).

"Guys, go now. Someone entered."

Great, it was time to work. I rolled my eyes, trying not to let her see.

"Alright," I told myself. "I can do this."
