"Where are we supposed to go now?" Screech asked. I bit my lip, my lip gloss covering some of my teeth. People walked all over the Warsaw Chopin Airport, trying to find their gate. I immediately felt a wave of homesickness, despite the fact I was in Warsaw. I spied an area with a black sign and yellow text that read Taksówki which if I remember correctly, means taxis.

"Pretty sure we go there now, we just finished collecting our luggages..." I said, worrying a little I might be wrong. The last time I ever been to an airport was 3 or 4 years ago when me and Dupe came to Maine.

"What does that mean? Is it Polish?" Eyes asked curiously.

"It means taxi.." I explained.

----------------------------------

Poland is really cold in Winter. Snow was falling, little kids were making snowballs and having a fight with them. A little girl was yelling, wearing a princess dress and a tiara, pretending she was some sort of queen or some other type of royalty. If only she knew who I were.

That's another thing, I didn't really expect anyone to remember who I was. Even though some people may have remembered me and my brother as princess and prince of Poland, that was years ago before we escaped to Maine.

Anyways, we were waiting for a taxi when that little girl ran past me and stopped to stare at me. I smiled, but she looked at me from head to toe. Did she recognise me? That wouldn't be good, it could totally ruin our chances of finding the library. My fear came true when she said to me "myślę, że Cię znam.." which means "I think I know you" in Polish.

"Oh! Ty robisz..?" I replied. It meant 'Oh! You do..?' She nodded, the jewels on her plastic tiara twinkled as she did.

"Czy jesteś sławną osobą?" Which meant "Are you a famous person?"

Oh dear. This wasn't good. Me and Dupe exchanged concerned glances while my other friends looked confused. I didn't want to lie, but would you let a crowd stop you from saving your home? No.

But how did she know? Was it my face? Outfit? I guess my outfit did seem pretty fancy for a normal person, but it was casual enough.

"Przepraszam, ale chyba pomyliłeś mnie z kimś innym..." I replied. (I'm sorry, but I think you've confused me with someone else.) In an attempt to avoid further questions, I pulled out my lip gloss and put on a layer. She nodded, a bit disappointed, before going back to her parents, who eyed me before shrugging and turning away.

Phew.

--------------------

"While we wait, maybe we should ask someone if they know where the library is?" Rush suggested.

"Good idea. You wait here." I said.

"Hey, why can't I come? I speak Polish as well as you!" Dupe asked.

"If you're going to be helpful........" I sighed.

We saw a girl with a Burberry skirt, black boots, a pink coat. She was wearing pretty heavy makeup as well, with heavy foundation application, bronze and blue eye shadow, clear lip gloss over her red lipstick and a strong perfume scent. So strong I could probably smell her kilometres away. I felt sorry for her and her 'poor choice of fashion' according to me. But that's enough of me being the fashion police, we had a job to do.

"Przepraszam, czy wie pan, gdzie jest Biblioteka Grand Abe?" (Excuse me, do you know where the Grand Amber Library is?) I tapped her on the shoulder. She looked up from her phone looked at me quite judgmentally. I tried to look more friendly by smiling a little, but it was hard when her perfume was so strong. Even Dupe looked displeased by it.

"Z jakiego powodu możesz tego potrzebować? Po co mnie pytać, skoro jest mnóstwo innych osób? Spieszę się, więc shoo!" (Why might you need this? Why ask me when there are plenty of other people? I'm in a hurry, so shoo!) She scowled.

I was shocked by her abhorrent behaviour. She didn't even know us! I'm sure if she knew who we were, she would treat us with respect. Last time I was here, everyone was friendly and helpful. I guess change happens.

"Czy ty w ogóle wiesz kim jesteśmy-" (Do you even know who we are?) I cut Dupe off. The lady made a face that said "I-don't-care-who-you-are-and-I-don't-care-I-could-of-gotten-executed".

"Dupe, lets leave and find someone who will actually help us." I pushed him away and started walking.

"Darn, I wanted to see her executed...." Dupe uttered.

"Never mind- maybe you-"

"Przepraszam, ale mówiłeś, że chcesz wiedzieć, gdzie jest Wielka Bursztynowa Biblioteka?" (I'm sorry, but you said you wanted to know where the Grand Amber Library was?)

I turned around and saw a woman, probably in her early 40s. She had brown wavy hair, emerald green eyes and rosy cheeks. She was wearing a blue sweater with some turquoise crystals sewn into it, a white fur coat and she was holding a blue Prada bag.

"Rzeczywiście.." (Indeed) I replied.

"znajduje się na Greensilk 217" (located at Greensilk 217) The lady replied. "Mogę cię tam zabrać, jeśli chcesz" (I can take you there if you want) she added.

"Byłoby wspaniale, dziękuję." (That would be great, thank you) Dupe replied. "Są z nami 3 inne osoby, czy to w porządku?" (We have 3 other people with us, is that okay?) Dupe asked, looking at her hopefully.

The lady nodded and we led her to our spot.

----------------------

The smell of leather filled the taxi, mixed with our perfume. We sat in the small leather seats in the back of the taxi while the lady sat in the front with the male driver. It was silent, and the cloudy day was making us bored. So I decided to break the silence.

"Przepraszam, że jeszcze nie zapytałem, ale jak masz na imię?" (Sorry, I haven't asked yet but what's your name?)

"A czy mówisz po angielsku?" (And do you speak English?) I added. The lady turned around and nodded.

"Yes, I can speak fluent English. My name is Valentina." She replied, smiling, her bright white teeth showing. Well that was a relief, and it was now easier for us. "What's your name? And your friends too?"

"My name is Amber, the one with the platinum to purple hair is Eleanor (Eyes), the one with the black jumper is Sasha (Screech), the one with the freckles is Damian (Dupe) and the one with blue sneakers is Hamilton (halt)." I replied

"Well it's nice to meet you all. Hm.....Amber and Damian? Those are the names of the Prince and Princess of Poland..then they ran away I think..." The lady tapped her chin. I gulped.

"That's because they-" Screech began.

"Our parents named us after them!" I finished. I can't believe Screech would have the audacity to try and blow our cover like that.

"Ah, I see. Are you all Polish?" She asked.

"No, just me and my brother Damian.."

------------------------

Roughly 30 minutes later, the taxi pulled in front of a large marble like building. The columns were twisted and had marble statues of gods and goddesses next to them. In the middle of the pathway leading to the library was a white fountain with crystal clear water. Bushes with beautiful roses bordered the pathway.

"Well, this is it. Welcome to the Grande Amber Library."
