It was like looking at a mirror but one was looking horrified, while the reflection had a grin on its face.

"You-you-" Screech was cut off.

"I'm your doppelganger? I must say, I'm impressed that you knew what we were planning this whole time. When you snuck into our planning room, then came here to try to stop us? Nice work, it it will all be wasted soon." The doppelganger said, with an evil expression.

"Why? Why are you doing this?" Screech sounded upset and scared.

"Because we can, and to take over the hotel as the most powerful entities. You may have brains, but your abilities? You all shouldn't even be considered as entities!" The doppelganger scoffed.

"But-" Screech began.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure all your friends remember you and your efforts." Then with a quick movement, they stabbed Screech, blood instantly spraying everywhere. Screech was trying not to scream as we were in a library, but she just couldn't help it.

I know people were going to hear, but we were in the far end of the library, and this library was huge. No one ever comes in this area. But maybe the others will hear.

"Screech! NO!" Eyes shrieked. She immediately bent down and tried to help, but there was nothing to help.

"How could you do this? You killed her!" I scowled.

"That's the point. You're lucky we can only kill doppelgangers of ourselves." Then she left.

"I-Get the-o-others. P-please." Screech begged. Tears started to form in her eyes.

I nodded, and went to the witchcraft section.

"Guys, you need to come right now. Did you not hear the screams?" I asked.

"We thought it was someone else. But what happened?" Dupe asked.

"Screech got stabbed.." Saying it was hard. I could hear the gasps of disbelief.

"You're joking, right? How-" Rush started, but I grabbed the two of them by the arm and dragged them to the scene.

"SCREECH!" Dupe gasped. "What happened?"

"S-stabbed. I-I'm surprised I'm still a-alive" Screech stuttered. It was hard to talk when you're in pain.

"I'll call an ambulance. You guys stay here." I instructed. I pulled my phone and dialled the phone number for an ambulance. I hoped it was still 999. If not, it had to be 112.

"Hello?" I forgot they spoke Polish, but to me relief, they spoke to me in English.

"This is the ambulance service, how can we assist you?"

"My friend got stabbed, she's still alive but we need you to come quick. We're in Grand Amber Library."

"Thank you. Help is on the way. Do you know who or what may have caused this incident?"

"Uh-" I didn't know what to say. I guess we had to reveal our secret. Maybe emergency services could help us in solving this mystery. I took a deep breath, and explained everything. I explained about the hotel, the rumour, but left out the part where we were the entities in human form.

"Thank you for the information. Other emergency services will assist you. The ambulance is on the way."

"Thank you." Then I hung up.

"So, how is she?" Eyes asked the nurse.

"Well, she's in critical condition right now. A lot of blood loss, and unfortunately, it's very unlikely she will make it. She's still breathing, but her heart rate isn't doing well." The nurse explained. "We've tried our best, but the injuries aren't responding to the treatments."

"O-okay..thanks..."

It was silent after that. We already heard what we needed for today, but for some reason, no one could leave the hospital. We were in a mourning state. We lost a friend. We had less help. But that didn't matter right now. Our friend might not make it, and it hurts to think of the past with her.

Not even Halt, the therapist, could help us. All he said was "At least they didn't say she dies yet, there's a chance she still might be alive."

Well thanks for that, but it wasn't very reassuring, and the chances of her surviving are very slim. I was surprised that she didn't die instantly on the spot.

Finally, I got up. "Well, I guess we should leave. And because of this incident, we stick together, no matter what."
