A/N I'm really sorry this took so long. I had to gather motivation, then figure out some inspiration, and then wait until I could sit down at my laptop to do the final edit and post, but here we are. This is part four to New Group, I think? (Inspired by La la la by Sam Smith)

Tw: swearing, blood, cuts, su!c!de attempt, hospitals/doctors, mention of court/lawsuit, as well as a social worker and  small mention of god(s)

*Dream POV*

As we approach Tommy's house at a speed slightly faster than we should be going, I find myself sighing in relief at the sight of the teen's car in the driveway but also glancing in confusion at the unfamiliar one parked next to it. Knowing that Tommy's dad is still on his business trip in Canada, there shouldn't be another car there.

As I step out of the car, I see two familiar people standing at the front door. "Shit," I hear Quackity from beside me. We hurry towards the front door, trying to ignore the two's presence. Which didn't work.

"Who are you and what are you doing here?" Tubbo stares at me accusingly. "First of all, you know who we are, and second, the better question would be, what are you doing here?" I shoot back. "Why wouldn't we be here? This is our best friend's house." Ranboo sounds so sure, I can't help but laugh, and I hear George and Sapnap do the same. "What are you laughing at?" They both look offended.

Before I can reply, we hear a crash come from inside the house, and the group is reminded of why we came. I waste no time pulling a copy of Tommy's house key from my pocket and shoving it into the lock. I turn around and tell Ranboo and Tubbo to go home and come back later. I hear Tubbo murmur something under his breath before leaving, but ignore it in favor of rushing to open the now unlocked door.

We all rush up the stairs and I push open the door to his room, not terribly surprised when he's not in there, instead rushing over to the bathroom door and knocking gently. "Toms, can you hear me?" I hear a whimper from inside and my heart breaks further. "Call an ambulance," I whisper to Quackity, who's undeniably freaked out just as much as the rest of us, but I know he's grateful for the distraction.

"Tommy, Sap and I are going to break open the door, so I need you to scoot as far away from the door as you can, okay?" I hear another whimper as well as the rustling of fabric, and figuring that's the best we're going to get, Sapnap and I focus on trying to get the door open without hurting him the quickest way we can.

The door pushes open with a quick snap under the force of mine and Sapnap's weight combined. I let George and Karl rush in ahead of us, though. I follow them quickly, Sap right behind at the sound of Karl's gasp. The bathroom floor is stained red from the liquid dripping from the blonde boy's thighs and forearms. He's quiet but there are tears dripping down his face and he's breathing, albeit slowly, but still alive. I pray to whatever god there is that the ambulance arrives quickly and this boy that I see too much of myself in doesn't leave us too early.

*magical time skip*

I wake up to bright fluorescent lights and the sharp smell of bleach. I rack my mind for what landed me here, and it's not hard to reach my answer when the second I move my body, pain shoots up my arms and legs. I whimper slightly at the pain but stiffen when I hear a gasp from beside me. Remembering how I got here, I'm not too shocked to find Dream sitting beside me in one of those god awful hospital chairs. "Tommy? Bud, you with me here?" Dream sounds devastated and I can't help but feel bad.

"I'm sorry." I whisper quietly, if only hoping to avoid the conversation altogether. When he doesn't respond, I look up to meet his gaze. He smiles, "There's nothing to apologize for, except for not telling us how you felt before we ended up here. But we all have to apologize. The rest of us have been distant and it wasn't good for any of our mental states. So now, instead of all of us drowning and attempting to hold each other afloat, we're going to therapy, all of us. I was where you were, Tommy. It didn't end well, but I was lucky enough to have people to pull me out, and you have those people now too." I couldn't help but let a small smile escape me.

"The hospital called your family but-" "Did my dad actually answer?" I let a bit of anger seep into my voice as I cut Dream off. "I- well, no but Tommy, you realize you can't live on your own, right? It's illegal." He frowned at me. Oh, yeah. "Your dad could technically be facing a lawsuit for child neglect. However, I talked to the social worker and they're willing to allow you to put off the charges under two circumstances. One, he's forced to take you with him." I shake my head. "I thought you might say that, or two, you move in with one of us. Any of us, we're all ready to go for a custody battle." I smile. "Well, hope you have room."

*flashforward like 7 months*

While I can't say life's been perfect since I moved in with Dream, it's been getting pretty damn close. The first few months were hard. Especially getting used to therapy and everything else like that. But my therapist is super nice! She calls herself Captain, but her name is technically Puffy. She's a specialist in cases like mine, according to Dream.

Ranboo and Tubbo apologized and whilst I haven't forgiven them yet, we've been interacting a bit more in school now. So while I'm still mad at them because how they treated me was awful, if they hadn't done what they did, I never would have found my new group. My family.

A/N And here's the end of this mini-series folks!  I hope this makes for a good ending and didn't feel too rushed. I might attempt to come back and fix it one day, but not on priority. This took me so long but I definitely still want to write, so if you have any ideas, you can leave a comment or dm and I'll hopefully be able to write it. Be on the look out for the next oneshot! It will either be a vigilante or royalty au. Depending which one I finish first.
