Marina POV
I was just a normal, cheerful little girl. Normally, my life would be like any other 5-year-old's life. That is, until the day the accident happened.
"Where are we going, mommy?" I asked.
"Oh, Marina," Mom replied. "We told you already that we are going to the zoo," "Is it far?" I asked. "It's been 20 minutes," "Oh, we'll be there soon enough," Dad assured me.
"Can we go faster?" I asked. "I don't want to sit here for too long. I want to see the animals," "Well, we could," Mom replied. "But it could be dangerous." "Please," I said, trying my best to make puppy eyes. Mom saw this and then gave Dad a look.
"Alright," Dad said. "We'll go faster," And with that he put more energy onto the gas pedal, making the car go faster.
"Wooo!" I cheered. "This is like a rollercoaster!" "This sure is," Dad laughed. But Mom didn't laugh. She was suddenly yelling, "Honey! Slow down! Turn ahead of us!" I look to the front and saw that there was a right turn in front of us. Dad tried to press the brakes, but we were going too fast. I quickly bring the window down and jump out of the car as the whole car drove off the road. It landed in the water with a splash. I stared in horror.
I was lucky that I had made it out alive, but what about my parents? Luckily, an ambulance came. It used a hook and line to bring my car out. Then a bunch of doctors took my parents out and placed them on beds in the ambulance. I was worried. They had their eyes closed and weren't moving.
"We don't know if you parents had made the accident out alive, kid," One of the doctors told me. "We'll check at the hospital. Why don't you follow us?" I nodded, then went into the back of the ambulance, siting on a bench just beside my parents. I hope that they were alright.
Once we got to the hospital, the doctors pulled the beds that my parents were on then start to move them inside. I followed them as they went many twists and turns, then finally, they stoped in front of a room door.
"Kid, you should sit here and wait until we get our results about your parents," The doctor said. So I sat down on a chair just outside the door and the doctors pushed the beds into the room. Then I started to wait.
I waited and waited, then finally after what felt like forever, a doctor came out of the room. And she looked a bit sad. "So," I said. "Did my parents make it?" "Kid, unfortunately I have some very bad news for you," The doctor said. "Both of your parents didn't make it. We tried everything we could, but I am very sorry for you to hear this." I was stunned.
"They died?" I asked. "Does that mean I am an orphan?" "Yes," The doctor said. "You are too young to live on your own, so we have worked out some solutions. You tell us where you live, so that you could go pack your belongings. Then we'll take you to an orphanage where you'll be living until you get adopted. Now, I'll give you a moment to say your goodbyes, then we'll leave,"
The doctor sat on the chair next to the one I was sitting as I open the door and enter the room. I can't believe that both of my parents dies at the same time, and at this age!
Anyway, as soon as I enter the room, all the doctors turn to look at me. I ignore them and look at my parents. As I walked closer, I could see that they weren't breathing at all. "Goodbye," I whisper to them. I gave them each a kiss, then walked out of the room.
"So where do you live?" The doctor that was sitting out of the room said as soon as I got out. I told her where I lived, then she drove me to my house. I grabbed my bag and placed all my prised possessions and belongings in it, zipped it up, then hopped back into the car.
