Ninjago: Tales of the Merge

The Deal

Marina POV

After the trip, we all got into the Destiny's Bounty and are now currently making our way back to the Monastery.

Arin was checking on Riyu. He was still asleep.

"Our little guy's still asleep," Arin said. "Totally exhausted."

"He was asleep since we left the Realm of Madness," I said. While he was sleeping, I listened to Lloyd, Kai, Nya, and Sora's conversation.

"Saving a kingdom of magical mud-eating rock monsters will do that," Lloyd said.

"So you're telling me this dragon, like, 'sparks' or something, then Sora can use her powers?" Kai asked. "And Marina can absorb attacks and send them back?"

"I suppose so," I said.

"If I even have a power. " Sora said. "It might be all Riyu. You saw how he powered up that mud field." "We've gone over this," Lloyd said. "You have a power. Riyu just ... soups it up."

"'Souping up' isn't how dragons work, is it?" Nya asked. "That's weird, right?"

"Everything's been weird since The Merge happened. As far as I know, no one's ever taught themselves Spinjitzu before." Lloyd said. "But then, the Merge hits, and suddenly ..."

"Wa — wait." Kai said, interrupting Lloyd. "You learned Spinjitzu by yourself? No Master Wu  morning breath?"

"Well, it's kind of a shaky, basic Spinjitzu." Arin said, walking towards us and away from Riyu.

"But still better than any of us could do when we started out." Lloyd said.

"I was just trying to figure out all the moves I'd seen you do." Arin said. "I'm ... kind of a ninja fan."

"'Kind of'?" Sora asked. "He once asked a barber to give him "the Zane". It did not go well."

"Yeah," I said. "He's been practising your moves and learning your poses a lot,"

"Of course it did not go well," Kai said. "He should've gotten 'the Kai'."

"What is 'the Zane'?" I ask Arin.

"Same hairstyle as Zane the Ice ninja," Arin replied.

"Please. You shouldn't even get 'the Kai'," Nya said. "And you think all this is tied to these Merge Quake things?" "Merge Quakes?" I asked.

"Maybe," Lloyd replied. "MergeQuakes are like aftershocks of the original Merge, where two realms try to occupy the same space. shut them down, but they're happening more often."

"That's why I went searching for help." Kai said. "If we don't stop the MergeQuakes, they could destroy everything."

"We also have to stop Imperium," I said. "Sora and I were Imperium before, and who knows, maybe they are hunting dragons right now,"

"She's right," Arin said. "We found the Claws of Imperium hunting Riyu,"

"If they are hunting dragons right now, then why are we going to the Cloud Kingdom?" Nya asked. Before any of us could reply...

BOOM!

A missle shot the Bounty by the back. Riyu woke up from the sudden movement and began to squawk."What's happening?" I asked.

We look behind and saw a group of Claws shooting at us.

"Its the Claws of Imperium!" Sora gasped. "They must have found us!"

"I thought they were hunting dragons, not us!" Arin yelled.

The Claws of Imperium began to shoot at us as we spoke. "I'll try outrun them," Lloyd said. He ran to the controls and pushed a lever to go faster, but the Bounty didn't move any faster. He tried again, but nothing happened.
