"Marco I could never kill you!"

"Please don't make this harder than it already is, Star..."

"I can't let you kill our grandma..."

"She is NOT my grandmother. She's dead to me. She will be dead to everyone else too"

"You're... not serious"

"Try me"

"Star... Eclipsa has killed so many of my friends. OUR friends. How can you still stand in my way after all this?"

"Because deep down even you know that two wrongs never make a right. Eclipsa never meant to hurt you. Neither did I"

"Don't make me kill you too..." Marco said grimly.

"You couldn't"

"If you're in my way..."

"I see. Then the Marco Diaz I loved is truly dead..."

"Guess who killed him...?" he replied coldly.

Star's hands emanated with magic. The wand shone. It was about to go down.

...

"Tom... something is wrong with him! He's not the same!" Janna explained.

Janna and Tom were sitting in the Lucitor living room. Tom was listening to all Janna had to say.

"So... The Monster Temple is destroyed, Marco has the wand and he's... evil?" Tom asked.

"Yeah... that's all of it... Toffee has demolished everything with his army of monsters..." Janna said sadly.

"How do you know this?"

"I-I went to Mewni to check up on Star. explosions... Marco..."

Suddenly, Kelly and Ponyhead walked in looking very solemn.

"Tom..." she said.

"Yeah...?"

"We have just received word that Star Butterfly has engaged with Marco Diaz on the Monster Temple"

Tom sighed and buried his face in his hands.

"This... isn't happening..." he whispered.

"Tom... you have to convince your parents to send help to Star and Eclipsa... please..." Janna asked teary-eyed.

"Why do you want to help the Butterflies after they destroyed Echo Creek?" Tom asked.

"When they decided to destroy Echo Creek, it wasn't without purpose. The MHC and Eclipsa thought Toffee was hiding there with his army. I'll never forgive them... but the kingdom and its people don't deserve to suffer under Toffee..." Janna admitted.

"And... you won't be alone. The Ponyheads have sent some people there" Ponyhead mentioned.

"Tom... with the help of the Lucitors we can end this once and for all..." Janna said hopefully.

"I'll... see what I can do..."

Star deflected a blast from Marco, she was still reluctant to attack him.

Marco grasped his searing arm. It was burning him like hell from the dark magic.

"Marco. You're killing yourself"

"I-I have to kill... Eclipsa..."

"Stop this madness, Marco! Please!" Star said as she blocked another one of Eclipsa's deadly spells.

Marco didn't stop, however. He kept going. Star deflected all the blasts and sent some flying his way too. Marco jumped out of the way and blasted Star again. Marco knew he couldn't kill Star. She was far too powerful. So he tried to jump down into the mouth of the temple and finish off Eclipsa. Star quickly followed.

Marco ran into the halls of the temple looking for Eclipsa. She was nowhere to be found. He saw his scissors on the floor askew. He failed...

Suddenly,

BAMMM!!!

Star had blasted him straight into the wall!

Marco gasped in pain as he looked at his arm. It was coated in blood from the pure heat of the blast. Luckily, the blast hit his arm and not the rest of his body. He dropped the wand and shouted in pain. Star gasped. She didn't mean to hurt him. Marco grabbed his arm in pain. His mouth leaked out some blood and he sat up to the wall.

Marco struggled himself up and trudged past a still shocked Star. He went to the mouth of the temple and watched as the Ponyhead army and the Lucitor army began to surround the monster forces in the town.

"I-I-I failed you..." he said to himself.

Marco knew he had failed. The MHC suddenly surrounded him.

"Marco...?" Hekapoo said shocked.

Marco didn't answer and watched as each monster of the army get picked off. His arm was still dripping with blood.

Star watched him. She watched as he fell to the floor. She tried to reach out to him but was stopped by Omnitraxus.

"Leave this to us, kid"

Marco fluttered open his eyes. His arm was bandaged? His other arm was still cracked with black. He was... behind bars...? His hands were suspended behind his back on a chair.

"Marco." Hekapoo said sternly.

"MARCO!"

"Wh-Wha?"

"Why, Marco? Why did you do this...?"

Marco was too tired and ached too much to respond.

"Marco you betrayed your best friend, me and Eclipsa"

This comment ticked Marco off.

"SHE BETRAYED ME!!!" Marco shouted sternly.

Hekapoo looked over to the door and walked away.

Then, Star and the others arrived. Marco looked at them and looked down angrily.

"Here to finish me off?" He asked Star coldly

"No"

"You turned your back on me when you stopped me from avenging my friends..."

"Killing Eclipsa solves nothing"

"You don't know how this feels. You never could"

The others were in silence. Marco was like a completely different person.

"Hundreds are dead. Eclipsa killed them"

"Hundreds are dead because of your war"

"TOFFEE'S war. I don't care about what he wants"

"You're breaking our heart, Marco"

"..."

"Talk to us" said Tom.

"I have nothing to say to any of you"

Eclipsa slowly opened the door. She walked over to Marco's cell. Marco's head jerked upwards.

"Marco..."

Marco stared at her with a hate that scared even Star. Marco tried to destroy the chair he was strapped to. He pulled tightly on the cuffs and snapped them. He then jumped up and tried to attack Eclipsa through the bars of the cell. Eclipsa was too far.

"YOU'RE A MONSTER!!!" He shouted as he reached.

He suddenly jerked back as he felt his hand sear. His bandaged arm stung badly.

"Marco... I never wanted to hurt you. To hurt anyone"

"THEY'RE STILL DEAD!!! I'LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!!!"

Eclipsa stared at him sadly. She walked away so he could cool off.
