Operation

Star and the others snuck to the bottom of the temple. Star grabbed Marco's scissors out of her purse. He looked at them and stroked the scissors carefully"

"Nosotras venimos mi amor" She whispered as she opened the portal.

When they arrived, everyone was shocked at their surroundings. So many crystals.

"Damn it! We'll never find him in all this!" Tom shouted angrily.

"Shhhh!" The others shushed.

"Sorry..." Tom whispered.

"He makes a point, it'll take ages to find Marco..." Tad whispered.

"Also there's no one here, we can be as loud as we need" Tad mentioned.

"Then we better get to work" Ponyhead said as she went off to find Marco.

The others looked around. Star went up some stairs and found Toffee's crystal.

"Rot, manipulative asshole" Star whispered as she spat on his crystal.

"Badass" Janna commented.

They all looked around for ages. No sign of Marco.

"Let's just face it, we'll never find him!" Kelly said angrily.

"GUYS! GUYS!" Star called out.

The others ran and flew over as quickly as they could. There he was, in all his glory.

Marco Ubaldo Diaz.

Star put her hand on the crystal lovingly as she saw her best friend frozen in place.

"Okay... so... what now?" Tom asked.

"We... uh... try blasting it" Star said, realising her plan wasn't as foolproof as she thought.

"Stand back!" Tom said as he blasted the crystal.

Nothing.

"Nice try, Tom. Now let the real princess handle this..." Star said cockily as she went Butterfly Mode.

"MEGA NARWHAL BLAST!" Star said loudly.

Nothing. Not even a dent

"Pshhh... that was nothing. Let's try..."

"STARDUST DAISY DEVASTATION!!!"

Nothing again. Star sighed.

"Okay. Stand back, guys.."

"TURBO NUCLEAR BUTTERFLY BLAST!!!" She shouted.

A loud explosion engulfed the room. Star watched hopefully. A single chunk of the crystal fell off.

"Crap..." Star whispered.

"Okay, so, what next?" Janna asked.

"WHOS THERE?!?" Rhombulus bellowed

"Crap! One of you, distract Rhombulus!" Star whisper screamed.

Janna walked out right in front of Rhombulus.

"Hey!" Janna calls out.

Rhombulus turns and faces her.

"So, a patient says to a doctor 'Oh doctor, I'm just so nervous. This is my first operation' The doctor responds 'Don't worry. Mine too.'"

"Wha?"

CRACK!

Rhombulus was hit on the back of the head by Star with the crystal of a fly person. Star had knocked him unconscious.

"Nice, Star!" Kelly cheered.

"That joke was horrible..." Janna said to herself.

"Since Rhombulus makes the crystals, he can also thaw them. Help me drag him would you guys?"

The others helped Star drag the unconscious Rhombulus to Marco's crystal. His snake hands hissed but Janna shut them up with her dissection knife.

"Now. Unfreeze him or I'll make you myself by pulling your insides..." Janna threatened.

The snakes used their ray until Marco was thawed. Marco fell to the floor. Star ran over and held him. He looked pale. He cracked his eyes open drunkenly.

"W-Whuh?" He asked groggily.

"Just as I suspected... Crystal Sickness..."

"St-Star...?" He asked dreamily.

"Yes, Marco... I'm here... we need to leave..."

The others surrounded Marco. He looked seriously unwell.

"Be careful of his arm..." Star said as Tom and she wrapped his arms around their shoulders to hold him up.

"S-Starrr I-I"

"Shush... It's okay... we're saving you"

"W-Whyyy?"

"We'll explain later... now let's just get out of here"

"There!" The guards shouted as they approached the group.

Star quickly opened a portal and jumped through it.

"The... Yurt Village...?" Tom asked.

"It's away from Eclipsa, away from the townsfolk and... well... I haven't seen my mom in a while..."

"Okay... well... here we go..." Kelly said as they entered the town.

It was... very advanced now. Beautiful stone walls, and mosaics, but it kept its medieval look. Star knocked on the door of her parent's house.

"Hello- STAR!?" Moon asked in shock.

"Hey, Mom..." Star said sadly.

Moon embraced her and her dad did too.

"Mom... Eclipsa-"

"I know about Toffee... we wanted to help but we don't have a real army... and it was over before it even began..."

"No, not that. Eclipsa destroyed Marco's entire home. My second home... he sought revenge teamed with Toffee and now we're here after he was crystallised. We saved him..."

"Crystal Sickness..." Moon muttered as she saw Marco's pale state.

"Marco wants to kill Eclipsa... we were wondering if we could stay here for the time being while we hash things out...?"

"Star of course! We always kept a spare house right next to us in case you wanted to live there. No other spares though. You'll have to squeeze with Marco"

"That's fine... I'll text Eclipsa that I've decided to stay here for a bit. Please don't tell her we busted Marco out..."

"I won't. If I was the guy I'd feel the same..."

"Thanks, Mom... I love you..."

"Me too sweetie. Here are the keys to the yurt. It's fairly big you should be fine..."

Moon handed Star the keys and Star and Tom carried Marco to the already laid bed.

"Oh, Marco..."

Marco groaned as he held his arm.

"I'm so sorry about the arm... please just rest up..."

"Are you sure he won't try to kill you, Star?" Tom asked.

"Marco doesn't hate me as much as he hates Eclipsa. It's an awkward situation but we'll see what we can do..."

Marco finally fell asleep. Star thanked the others and gave her farewells to them.

Star looked around the yurt. There was no other bed. Luckily, Marco had shuffled over just enough. Star went to get changed. Luckily, her parents had got her some nightgowns in her closet

"Don't look, Marco. I'm getting changed..." she whispered just in case as she couldn't tell if Marco was sleeping or just weak.

"Mhphm..." Marco said weakly. He was still feeling the effects of the crystal sickness

"Marco. If you wake up tomorrow before me. Just please stay here okay? I want to talk to you before you make your decision"

"Mhp-Okayyy" Marco said painfully.

Star sighed and lay down next to him. She wasn't sure what was next but she and the others had made a start...
