LONDIWE
It has been 3 weeks of bliss. Kwanele and I are still at it, we're still having mind blowing sex at the office and no one has noticed a thing, not even my friends, well, I've been avoiding them since Qhawe broke my heart but I did tell them that I needed time off from everything. That's what I do when I'm in my feelings, I push everyone away and I shut down but luckily for me,my friends understand and they have been the most supportive.
“Hey stranger!”, Stacy says as I enter the canteen. Kwanele and I have been having lunch in his office since but today I decided to go to the canteen before Precious snoops around.
“ Hey babe.”, I say taking a muffin
“ You know, for someone who has just got cheated on you sure are glowing .”, Gcina
“Hay ,hayi Gcina!”, I say and giggle.
“ Hay wena! Spit it out ” , the two of them are now staring at me , waiting for me to say something. Are they crazy? Bayahlanya laba,I'm not telling them I'm having sex with the boss, these walls have eyes and ears phela.
“Not now guys, we'll video call but just keep an open mind okay?”, I say looking at them .
“ mhh, i say this one got back with Qhawe, three hundred rands on it ", Stacy says.
“ Mine is she has another man giving it to her good. Phela the Qhawe effect is not this beautiful and visible.” , Gcina adds.
What?
“ You guys are seriously making a bet ngami?”, I chuckle. These two will never change.
“Yazini forget, where's Wendy?”, I ask
“ Yho mgani, you don't even wanna know.", Gcina looks at me making a face.
“ Bitch, I wouldn't have ask if I didn't wanna know.” One thing about my friends, the “You don't even wanna know” comes with very hot tea that ends up making you give bombastic side eyes and smirks .
...
It's knock-off time now ,Kwanele and I are packing our things. We have been working since lunch time ended, Kwanele is such a workaholic and it's not even funny. He turns all boss-mode when he's serious with work stuff.
“ So will I see you tomorrow?”, he comes up to me and holds me by my waist very close to him.
I sigh, “ I don't know babe, I feel like I've been neglecting my brother and my friends so I just wanna spend more time with them.”, I put my hands on his shoulders.
“ I understand. But in all honesty MaZiqubu, I'm a man , this hide and seek game is for kids.”, I knew it was going there , I knew it!
“ I know, I just need to break the news to my friends first,is that cool with you?”
“ Yeah, I guess.”, he pecks me on my lips and pulls back.
We leave the office and go to the parking lot. Derrick is already waiting for me. Speaking of Derrick , I should tell Qhawe that I've moved on so he can take his driver.
I walk to him and he opens the door for me. “ Evening Derrick.”
“ Good evening Ms.” he closes the door for me and goes to the driver side and starts the ignition.
“Derrick.”, I say after some time breaking the comfortable silence. He looks at me from the review mirror.
“ As you know that Qhawe and I broke up and I don't think we'll get back together again. I think it's best if you'd stop being our driver.”, I say “our” because he also drives Kwazi to school. Kwazi...hay that one will survive, it's not like he's allergic to public transport mos.
“ I'll be your driver until Mr Majola tells me otherwise Ms.” , Derrick says looking straight the road. Hehake Mr stone!
KWANELE
“Manje uzomtshela nini?”, my father asks me.
“ I will, at my own time baba so please, let's not talk about this. ” , honestly though, he should stop putting me under pressure.
“Mhhh , just know ukuthi time is no man's friend ndodana.”, he sips on his whiskey while giving me a side eye. If I didn't know better , I'd say this man likes seeing me miserable.
