Jax didn't reject. We all got into the car when we were stopped suddenly. "Get down." I heard Chibs yell before bullets came flying. I screeched but was unharmed thanks to Ope next to me, who heroically threw himself over me. The rest was a blur, but we all returned safely to the compound. "Girls, okay?" Jax asked when Chibs entered with a beer. "Yeah. Casey picked them up. They're back at the rectory." Chibs answered at that point. I went outside, still shaken from what happened. "You okay, Lexi?" Paddy walked over to me when I sat on one of the benches. "Yeah, just give me a minute or two," I said, but my hands shook. Paddy walked away but came back soon after. "I don't know what exactly happened, but she looked like she was in shock or something." I heard Paddy say. "Babe, Darling, what happened?" I heard Juice's voice. "I'm okay, my love. Just shaken up a bit, it'll go away." I looked at my husband, who was crouched in front of me. "You sure you need anything?" he asked, but I shook my head. "I'm okay." I looked into his beautiful brown eyes. Alright, I'll be back soon." he kissed me on the forehead and walked away. Somebody placed something in my hands. I saw a water bottle. "You should drink," Luther said, crouched before me. I drank and instantly felt much better. Juice returned from the meeting, and he and I went to our room. I dressed in black jeans, a grey top, and a leather jacket. "Dang, Baby, you look luscious," Juice commented on my outfit. "Aw, thanks, Baby." I walked over to him and bent over to kiss him. We kissed when loud banging from. the door interrupted us. "They always do that on purpose." I scoffed and opened the door. "Fuck off, Asshole," I growled at Happy. "You two coming, or you gonna spend the whole night banging like bunnies?" he asked. "No, you dumb piece of shit," I growled and walked past him. Juice ran past me and held the door open for me. "Thank you, see a gentleman." I pointed at Juice. "A piece of shite." I pointed at Happy. I giggled and screeched when Happy ran after me. Juice waited with a beer until Happy and I were done being childish. "What a day." Juice let out a sigh while I took the beer from him. "Yeah, well, I have you still and not almost deported," I said, taking another sip. We stood close together, each a beer in hand, when we heard yelling from a crowd. Liam and a guy wrestled; the guy was down, and Liam triumphed. "What an ass, I don't trust him," I whispered. "But he's a member," Juice replied. "Still, something is fishy," I mumbled. "What's Jax doing?" I heard Juice ask. I looked over to the table where my brother talked with Bobby and removed his rings. "Are they gonna fight?" I asked and released my arm. "What's going on?" I asked as I approached the table. "Jax and Liam are gonna fight," Bobby told me. "You better knock him out," I said with a hand on his shoulder. "Don't you worry about that?" Bobby asked. "Don't want him messing up that pretty face," I said, smiling. "It's him that should be worried about that. Just watch." Jax was finished, and he took his shirt off. "Lex, come sit with me for a second." Clay made some space. I knew what he wanted to say. "I know what you wanted to say, Clay. I won't end the relationship with Juice," I told him as I sat down with Mom behind me. "That's not what I wanted to know. Just tell me how it started." I was friendly but knew he wasn't happy, so I told him almost everything, plus what happens in Bakersfield with my Bio parents. "I don't give a shit about them. I have you and Mom. I love both of you and Dad, and now Clay took me in. I don't see them as my birth parents anymore. You and Clay are better parents than those people," I said, turning to Mom, who held out her hand. I took it. "I love you too. Go and have fun. Well, talk about it another time." Mom got up, kissed me, and walked off with Clay. I walked over to the ring of people watching the fight. When I walked into the circle of the fight, both were concentrating on the fight, and Liam already looked like he got a few hits. With a good hit or two, Jax hit Liam, who fell to the ground. We all cheered, and Jax, sweating, walked to the table to get his stuff. "Good job, brother." I walked up to him. "Thanks, you're going to bed?" I nodded. "Yeah, it was a rough day." I smiled while following him. "How are you doing, Jax?" Chibs walked out of the Apartment with Opie and Bobby. "Come on!" Jax held up his hands, showing his muscles. "You crazy." I shook my head, amused. When I entered the room and changed, I crawled into bed, falling asleep instantly. The Morning after the party, Juice and I were still super tired but somehow managed to get up earlier than the others. "I'm going for a walk. You wanna join me?" I asked him, and he nodded. "Sure, Baby, why not." We walked out of the Apartment and outside. the cool morning air made us shiver, but we were prepared and had warm jackets. We walked over the street and straight through Belfast. As we reached a beautiful spot, Juice stopped. "What?" I asked. "I want to do it properly," Juice said. "What?" I asked as Juice got on one knee. "Alexis Teller, will you be my wife?" He asked the question I wanted to hear from a man since I was fifteen.
