I kissed him on his blond hair when Tara pushed the stroller with Thomas, who was super cute next to us and stopped. We hugged and chatted briefly until the nurse called me to draw blood. "I'll see you afterwards. I'll bring the kids to daycare," Tara told me, and with a nod, set Abel down, who followed Tara away while I followed the nurse, who took some blood and sent me back to the waiting area where I met with Tara. We waited for the nurse to call us, which took ages, but finally, it was my turn. As we entered, I panicked, but Tara calmed me down and talked me step after step through what the doctors would do. "It'll be fine, just a check on your belly if he finds something." I was so happy to have Tara with me. The door opened, and a female doctor walked in. "Miss Teller and Dr. Knowles, it's good to see you." Dr. Helms shook my hand and sat down. "Dr. Knowles informed me about nausea and tiredness." She looked at me with a questioning look. "That is correct." I nodded my head. "And when was the last time you were intimate?" she continued. "About two weeks ago," I answered. "And last Period." I looked over to Tara, who nodded her head. "Before that," I answered. "Nothing after?" I shook my head. "No." I got quieter. "Alright, please lie down." I got up and lay down, moving my shirt up while Tara stood beside me. Dr. Hems rolled a wagon over with a machine on it. "Careful cold gel." She warned me, but still, I cringed. "I'm so sorry." She was apologetic. "No worries, that was a reflex." I looked over to Tara, who took my hand. It took a while, but then Doctor Hems stopped at one point. "You see This little blip?" She asked, pointing to a spot. I nodded. "That a baby?" I asked back, and she nodded. "I felt my heart race when I saw the little thing on the screen. This made me freak out a little more. "Lex, calm down, please. I'm going to help you, okay? So please breathe, we can do this." I thought for a second before calming down when Dr. Hems was finished. we set up the next appointment in a few weeks, and the nurses outside passed me some folders to read and a little folder. "That your mother passes so you can put the dates in for the appointments and number if you have questions." She explained. "Thanks." I put it all in my bag. Tara walked me out. "Guess I have to get used to riding less now?" I sigh, looking at my bike. "For the Moment, it's fine. The fetus is so small it wouldn't get harmed, but it's best to set the bike aside in a few weeks. I nodded. "Alright, we'll guess I'm heading home." I smiled, thanked Tara and drove to Charming. At TM, I got off and greeted the Boys and Mom, who asked me to manage the Office so she could visit Clay. I happily agreed and sat on her spot behind the desk, starting to search through some paperwork. Mom came back after about two hours. When she set her bag on the couch, I saw her face, and she looked not amused. "What happened?" I asked. "I have good news and bad news," I said annoyedly. "Bad news first," I said, turning the chair to face her. "We can't see Jax for three months, and the good news is.. wait, baby, I explain." Mom stopped me before I could interrupt her. "Jax is out of the sick bay. The doctors told Clay he could go back but should rest up." Mom explained. "I let out a huge sigh of relief. "Oh, Mom, that's wonderful." We embraced, and I felt a tear touching the shirt I had on. "We will visit him, okay, you and me," I told Mom, looking in her teared-up face. "Yeah, Baby, we will." Mom smiled. I carefully whipped the tear from her face with my thumb. Three weeks later, I had another visit without Tara since Abel was sick, and she asked if I could go alone. After the blood draw, I waited, and a nurse picked me up and brought me to the room I was in last time. "Hi, Miss Teller, how are you?" Dr. Hems came in with a nice smile on her face. "Doing okay. The puking didn't stop; I been throwing up every morning," I told her. "Huh, weird since you are already through your first Trimester." Dr. Hems was confused. "Well, I'll make the ultrasound, and then we can see what's been going on." I lay down, and Dr. Hems started the ultrasound. "Okay, I found out why you've been vomiting and not feeling so great." she said after a while. My eyes closed, but I saw blips on the screen when I opened them. "Wait, hold on, are there two or one?" I asked. "There is the one we saw on the last check, and here we have the second one, which hid behind its sibling." she said, pointing at the second smaller blip. "Jesus Christ." I fell back, closing my eyes. "Alright, well, so there are two, and what now? I took a cab here, leaving my bike at home." I said, not knowing what I should do now. "We will have regular check-ups to see how the two are doing, but you can keep your life going as good as possible." She smiled at me, which didn't work. "Alright, yay, now there are two and guess what? I'm still a single parent." I was a bit grumpy, but I loved my two little worms. I was very excited to meet them in a couple of months.
