It was the next day after Ruby and her new friends found out about Andy being Auradon's protector. Ruby was still reeling about what Andy was and how she was able to help him. She and the others hadn't seen Andy since the night before, and they were all worried about him. The group wanted to give him space to take everything he learned, but that didn't stop their worry for the young prince.
Ruby and the core four were in their Goodness class when the Fairy Godmother rushed to them with a big smile.
"Children, excuse me, um, as you know, this Sunday is Family Day here at Auradon Prep." Fairy Godmother told them as they nodded since the group had explained this to Ruby. "And because your parents can't come due to... uh...distance... we've arranged for a special treat."
Fairy Godmother walked over to a TV monitor with excitement and giddy. Fairy Godmother clicked on the monitor revealing the core four's parents. Ruby's brows furrowed as she didn't see her mother making her sigh in disappointment.
"I don't see anything," Maleficent complained. "Nor do I hear..."
Fairy Godmother called over the gang, who walked over to the monitor with Carlos taking Dude, wearing a jacket similar to the one Carlos had with them. Ruby stayed behind, seeing as her mother wasn't with the other parents.
"Is this thing on?" Maleficent questioned, clicking the remote. "It's broken! I hate electronics." She threw the remote away as the screen appeared for the villains.
"Evie! It's Mommy!" Evil Queen smiled. Evie waved too. "Look how beautiful. You know what they say? The poison apple doesn't fall far from the tree!"
